However he stacks up, I hope Danny doesn't take Brown AT ALL. Didn't want Winslow for 4 pick, don't want brown either.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

They seem to be pretty different.

Both are athletic, good in transition, and struggle with their shots. Brown is noticeably more explosive, but Winslow was a better defender and I think has a far better feel for the game/iq. Both guys seem pretty mature.

They're similar, but Brown is even less polished. Winslow is a very good athlete, but Brown is on another level; he's a freak. Overall, they're similar quality prospects, but I'd give Winslow the edge for sure.

Brown isn't the passer or defender that Winslow is.

Winslow is like Smart, he can impact winning in a big way even when he's not scoring or dominating the ball.

Hard to believe Brown will be like that.

Seems like a guy that's going to fall on draft day. I'd love to get him with number 16 if we keep it, or at least move up a couple spots to get him if need be.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I could see him falling in a similar manner to Winslow, but not all the way to 16.

I'd be fine taking Skal or. Brown in the 10-12 range if the Celts move up. That's where you take a risk.

Yeah, 16 might be a stretch for him to fall, which is why it would've been huge if Dallas would've missed the playoffs.

If we could get Skal or Brown with that pick, then I'd be extremely happy, if we even keep that pick that is.

how does jaylen brown stack up against winslow-

Brown has a better finish around the basket game. For sure.

But otherwise winslow may get the edge.  Winslow like Crowder a tad short for a sf

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Winslow has been a key piece for Miami. He's the same age as James Young and has been starting for the Heat in the playoffs. Just an incredible defender like Smart. So versatile and his offense is coming along nicely.

As you point out Rollie, given how much Danny wanted Winslow, I wouldn't be surprised to see him  take Brown at #5 given Brown's defensive versatility, worry about his offense later.

They are focusing on guys that can switch defensively and guard any position.

Winslow is honestly one of the main reasons the Heat are in this series- he's shut down Lowry and DeRozan in switches and just played amazing defense.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Winslow looks awesome for a rookie. Miami got lucky he slid.

Brown is shorter than advertised, but I'm high on him. Tough, strong, explosive . .. raw, but young.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

I think Danny would just try to trade the pick for Winslow if he thought that highly of him. Winslow has been good, but it's not like he's been amazing or shown the potential to be a superstar (like Towns or Porzingis). A top 5 pick and change would probably be enough to land him.

Jaylen reminds of the other athletic freak of nature named Brown we had years ago - Kedrick
