Winslow has been a key piece for Miami. He's the same age as James Young and has been starting for the Heat in the playoffs. Just an incredible defender like Smart. So versatile and his offense is coming along nicely.

As you point out Rollie, given how much Danny wanted Winslow, I wouldn't be surprised to see him  take Brown at #5 given Brown's defensive versatility, worry about his offense later.

They are focusing on guys that can switch defensively and guard any position.

Winslow is honestly one of the main reasons the Heat are in this series- he's shut down Lowry and DeRozan in switches and just played amazing defense.

I think Danny would just try to trade the pick for Winslow if he thought that highly of him. Winslow has been good, but it's not like he's been amazing or shown the potential to be a superstar (like Towns or Porzingis). A top 5 pick and change would probably be enough to land him.

Miami's not trading Winslow.  And Danny was right about him.  The key for him will be developing his offensive game moving forward but the guy was good enough to always be on the floor for the Heat when it mattered throughout the playoffs.  I imagine that both Danny and Pat Riley expect that his offense will improve quite a bit over time.

Yeah, that Young pick can definitely be considered wasted now. I'm still so mad that we didn't get Capela with that pick, let alone Hood or Harris.

Wow the thought of Rodney Hood on the Celtics is amazing; especially if he were drafted alongside Marcus Smart.
