He's been terrific but I'd be much happier if the team used its assetts to bring in more talent that makes Turner expendable.
Nobody is saying to sign Turner over KD but I'd like to keep him if we can ET's game has matured well he's been balling for us

ET is a great piece to have on a contending team.

For example, Shaun Livingston has carved out a terrific role in GSW. Turner, imo, has a similar game to Livingston's, except ET's a better defender and shot creator.

I actually want to retain Evan Turner as much as possible. I'd even consider giving him a bit more than his value. The reason why is he just fits our system so well. He's quickly making me forget his bad stay on the Pacers and definitely starting to forgot he played majority of his career on the 76ers. He is an all around player, if we can find an upgrade in the starting lineup, Turner is exactly who we need on the 2nd unit

DA likes him. He was at OSU for him. If it is reasonable DA will match it. ET wants to be here and that should be worth money to an organization. His Skill set is not easily found.

His skill set together with his team attitude/personality is even harder to find. CBS and Ainge both love him, and so do his teammates. I don't see Ainge letting him go this summer. Getting an all-star or two shouldn't affect the decision to keep Turner. He's a bench player jack of all trades type, and he won't be in any trade requests by other teams either. They will want Nets picks, Smart, and Crowder, followed by Rozier and KO.

Money will matter.  If the C's sign two max players, they'll probably only have room to offer Turner the Early Bird exception, which is unlikely to be more than $6.5 million in year 1.  If some team with cap room (hello Knicks) likes him enough to offer $9-10 million, he's gone.

I like him and want him to stay.  But it will very much depend how everything shakes out.

I didn't love the Turner signing at first. But he's really made me a believer. I hope we keep him.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I think every team needs a player like Turner. He is a player that can be the x-factor every game. It's not something you want from a starter, but as a role player off the bench, he's an exciting player to watch. He also fits perfectly with this team.  Guys like IT, Smart, Bradley, and Crowder are considered to be the core of this team, and he is cut from the same cloth as them.

He plays a lot of minutes but that's only because he has the ability to fill in for different positions. I think the need for him diminishes as the team morphs into a contender. He will end up taking on less roles and his production will decrease, as will his value to the team.

Given how teams work and how the media works, people are only going to remember him contributing to a playoff team and forget about all the bad stuff. Look at Lance Stephenson. Of course you guys remember "Trick or Treat Tony". Some team is going to give him a better offer.

I hope The Logo spends the rest of his career as a Celtic.  His swagger and versatility are hard to match, and I love cheering for this kid.

Unless his re-signing would prevent the Celtics from getting an All-Star...why would you not want to resign him?  What other 'role player' would you like to bring in that does what he can do?

He's third on the team in EFF during the playoffs behind Thomas and Amir Johnson.  Turner does a little of everything.  He's been key.

His production is still well below average for the amount of minutes and role he has.

A very useful player in filling holes in our rotation given his flexibility both offensively and defensively. But he doesn't really do anything well

I will be immensely disappointed if we give him a big FA deal.
Yeah, I don't think he will get a big deal. With how he flamed out in Indiana, and wore out his welcome in Indiana, he will realize this is the best place for him and end up giving up money to play here.
On the other hand, he can't possibly be earning any sort of market rate right now at less than $4 million. I can easily see him getting an offer for double that.

ET has done more than enough to ensure he gets an improved deal somewhere. While not a top tier earner I can see him being very attractive to teams, including some very competitive ones, playing a similar role to what he does for Boston.

He's a competent ball handler, he can play big minutes if need be and he has risen for the big occasion. At 27 he has the sort of experience now where he can be a leader too.

I won't be unhappy if the Celtics retain him. He might contribute more on a stronger Celtics team.
