Cousins and Marc Gasol are choice 1A and 1B for me. There aren't many centers Id want that are UFA. Drummond is a RFA but the Pistons will match a max offer for him

I'd rather have Horford and the Nets pick than Gasol or Cousins.  And it would cost this year's Nets pick at a minimum.

Cousins >>> Horford + #4

Quoted for truth.

Was never a fan of signing Hordford. But I don't think this effects C's chances negatively. Winning tough games is a great sign of growth.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Who Cares!!!! Building a winning culture gets you players. Look and SA with LA and West.
Our time is coming with our coach too. Great days ahead.

You could make the argument that Amir has outplayed Horford in half the games this series.

I think I'd rather have Horford and Durant at the max, but if Horford isn't a deal-breaker for Durant, I'd definitely rather have Johnson at 12 million than Horford at 20+ million.

I don't want to overrate Horford but Amir Johnson is not in his league. Amir was played well and I appreciate what he does for the team but its ridiculous to say he's anywhere near Horford's level.

And what if the pick is top 2?  Or #4 + Bradley or Smart? #2 + Bradley or Smart?  What if Cousins bolts in two years?  I know what four years of Horford costs.  I don't know what Cousins costs, nor how long I am getting him for.  Certainly there's a price I'd be willing to pay for DMC.  But it shouldn't be at all costs.

If they were both free agents, Cousins would absolutely be my first choice, and it wouldn't be very close.  But they're not.

Don't want Horford. He appears bored at times. I think he comes alive when he gets angry but I'll take a less talented bulldog. Amir( who isn't as good) has more fire. I'd like us to try to keep getting guys with the bulldog mentality coupled with a higher skill level. Easier said than done though I know. Too bad it wasn't Milsap entering free agency instead.

Paying a 30 year old non-superstar $25 million per year is a lot less appealing than paying the best center in the league (age 25) a total of $32 million over the next two seasons.

That'd be the "best center" who teamed up with the "best point guard" to lead their franchise to eye-popping 33 wins last season?

This series certainly has hurt my feelings about signing Horford - I wasn't a big fan to begin with but now I really hope we stay away from him, for the contract he's going to get, his age and his production... no, thanks.

If you are under the impression that Rondo is the "best point guard," then you are mistaken, sir. I'd also like to see you make a legitimate, stat-based argument for anyone beside Boogie Cousins as the best Center.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

What, DeAndre Jordan and Andre Drummond not good enough for you?

Cousins must have posted the least impactful 25 points and 12 rebounds in recent NBA history. The guy is a loser, stat padder, and a coach killer. Just stay away.

This series should certainly make us question why we would offer Horford the max this summer. Whilst he has outplayed Sullinger I certainly don't think he's been as effective as Amir. Tying him up for 4 years at the max would be a risky decision.

Also signing Horford is not going to sway the boat for Durant. If he comes here it's because of Brad, Isaiash etc. not because we sign Horford.

Hawks fans are pretty mixed about bringing Horford back on a max deal.  THAT should tell us something.

DeAndre is definitely not as good, and Drummond isn't in the same stratosphere as the other two. You can't name a better Center because there isn't one.
