He shouldn't be shy of taking these shots
It's a shot he made all year long.
I was disappointed he missed but the "right" play was executed
I disagree. If you are not making them time after time, you hurt the team. Taking a shot, your likely to miss, is not the right play. He was 1-7 from downtown, at some point, I would like to see the light go off. Of course, if he makes them all is well but he was not. He was 1-11 from the field and 1-7 from the trey line. I realize he is hurt and the like, but don't hurt the team by trying to be the hero when your not hitting shots. I realize you can' t hit the next shot without taking it. But one should feed the hot hand not the cold one. That is the "right play ". Sometimes it is not your night, so you do other things and adapt.
At least by adjusting and taking a drive, you throw the defense off guard and can penetrate and dish to a guy who might make the shot. You also make get fouled on the drive. Just bombing away when your not likely to hit them is not the right play. They pack it in more because they do not have to play him honest.
I salute him for shooting after the win to try to remedy this.
Do you really think he would have done this, if he thought all was well? I don't, this clearly implies he was not happy with his performance. He is trying to fix his shot because it hurt the team. He knows this or else he would have went home like the rest of these guys.
I love Crowder, but I was cringing on a lot of those wide open shots that he missed. Some of them came at critical points at a game. Good players, play within their game, and change their game when things are not going their way. I also, cringe sometimes when Jonas takes a layup.
