Brad has stated that it's Kelly's decision on if he can play or not. That tells me that he got medically cleared to play. I say strap on a shoulder sleeve and get out there.

What's everyone else say?

Kelly needs to be able to shoot to provide value out there.  If his shoulder doesn't feel right, he wouldn't help the team by playing.

If it's me I try to figure out how to fight through it and be productive and let the coach pull me if I suck.

Maybe it's just my personality but I always want to play. I've played soccer games with a broken foot. Ran track events with a blister the size of my palm on my foot and still finished first. That was high school. This is the NBA playoffs. Kelly got to man up.

Agree. He owes it to his team. Smart is playing with bruised ribs (which hurt like hell) and Crowder is playing on one ankle. There's no excuse for him not to be playing. He can help his team out in other ways besides scoring.

I think Smart would play with one arm if he had too. Kind of like Rondo did.

Plus Kelly would help the team with spacing just being on the Court. If he tossed up three airballs in a row OK, but until that happens has a 7 foot baby. Soft Canadian IMO.

It's more than just the shooting.  He played that first game not right and he got killed out there.  His defense is not as good either.  Him stepping up on defense was a good part of what made him so good this year.  But you're right here.  Too bad he's our best shooter.

is his arm going to fall off if he plays?

I've always heard that we're better defensively with KO in there, so does KO think he can't contribute in any way? is his shoulder connected to his legs and hinders his ability to move his feet?

I'm actually glad the Celtics put this in KO's hands to decide.

I don't know how badly Olynyk is doing now but in general Olynyk needs to get a lot better at playing through periods were he is not 100%. His game suffers too much whenever there is a small problem with him. Or whenever he is returning from injury.

He is too reliant on being 100% to be productive. Needs to learn to play through some pain.

that's exactly what I was saying last yr. it always seems like there's going to be an excuse.

It's pretty tough to judge another man's pain.

Sure, but I would wager that virtually every one of our other main rotation players would play in this situation, and some of them are even playing through pretty rough injuries right now. Can you really say that any of our other starting five would voluntarily sit out if they were medically cleared to play? I can't see it, even with someone like Sully.

It is.

But that doesn't change the fact that Olynyk is pillow-soft. Don't like his game, never have, and would happily move him in the off-season for anything of value.
