I emailed the Celtics to tell them if they trade for Cousins that I will not purchase tickets next year.

I suggest anyone who dislikes Cousin's attitude as much as I do to email the Celtics.
I have got about 40 other people to send similar emails. If you feel the same way please email the Celtics and talk to your ticket representative as well.

I'm sure the front office will take those 41 requests (that they never see) very seriously. It just seems like a waste of your time, emailing the team and asking them not to improve the franchise.
Good thing I've countered your mass flood of emails with a letter writing campaign of my own. I've gotten 40 fellow fans to send letters with their boogers attached to signify our desire for them to acquire Boogie Cousins. May the best fan win.

How picky are we that we can deny that type of talent after what just happened to us in the playoffs?

I'd really love to be inside the mind of Divac/Vivek/Joerger right now to see how they're feeling about the whole Cousins situation with the new arena/new coach/new philosophy for the upcoming year.

You'd have to think that all of this change would give them an out to trade their lone star right now, especially if they're getting a top-2 draft pick in this draft as compensation.

I have pretty good seats and have gotten a response. Others have told me they received responses also. If you talk to your ticket rep and email the Celtics, they will respond.

It's likely just an auto-response , no one who makes roster decisions will even see the email.

You probably don't have season tickets in my area. I sit very close and they do take care of those fans. I get to meet Wyc etc once a year. All you have to do is contact your ticket rep and put your request to not trade for Cousins.

Celtics are in now way going to take action

IT and cousins didnt jive before and won't now.

Only coach it seems like that can get through /work with cousins is Mike Malone

You screw up the new coach with cousins, you will get half in return for Cousins than you should.   Sac is at the end of the line with coach hiring imo.  You got to think the New coach comes ahead of cousins now
I agree. This has to be the last attempt with Cousins for them.

No way to know for sure without trying, or at least seeing him outside the dumpster fire that is Sacramento. PP was immature for a long while, too. Smart shoved a fan and got suspended for it in college, yet he's an integral part of our culture.

It's hard to judge Cousins in the context that he's in. During the Malone era, he's shown that he can be level-headed, behave, and an All-NBA talent at the same time. It's no coincidence that Malone was the most stable, positive influence on Cousins in Sacramento, and Cousins benefited and thrived in that stable environment. He'd be similar here in Boston, and there's plenty of other similar examples to back this up, too.

Exactly! To all my fellow fans ready to join the #Boogies4Boogie cause, please remember to only send your greenest ones. Save the yellow, clear, brown and red boogers for tissues.

I can't deny that there's no risk, which revolves mostly around his attitude, but he's incredibly talented and has shown that his attitude can be tempered by good coaching and a stable culture (Mike Malone era and FIBA World Cup). To those who despise and vilify him for his on-the-court behaviors, I'd point to his admirable off-the-court actions in which he has shown to be a charitable person without any scandals that have come to light.

I don't really understand how people can dismiss cousins out of hand. He is insanely talented, and has improved his game every year since coming into the league. He has been able to accomplish this with one of the worst foundations in the league.

The Sacramento Kings front office isn't just incompetent, they are literally a sideshow. Just a few note able parts of this side show are having an owner who wanted to run the "cherry picking" style of offense (aka only have 4 defenders back), hiring vlade who is continuing their tradition of losing trade afeet trade.

Worst of all, they haven't given cousins any way to build on a culture of winning. How many organizations are successful when a new coach is brought in? How about 2 years in a row of new coaches? Cousins was drafted in 2010. Fast forward to 2016, and Cousins has had 6 head coaches. 6......

Get cousins out of that toxic pit, then let's pass judgement on him. Let him go to an organization that isn't doing literally everything in its power to sabotage winning basketball, then we can talk about him not being a winner. Basketball is still a team sport (not everyone is Lebron), and demarcus hasn't had a team. He's had a collection of players with no direction or support.

Smart doesn't challenge the coach. He doesn't quit on a play. He isn't an emotional wreck throughout the game and doesn't let bad calls cause him to play poorly for the next 4-5 minutes.

I really don't like the comparison you made. Having a competitive edge and playing with nastiness is good but Cousins is just moody and a guy who plays the victim way too often. He can't focus on just playing. He gets thrown off his game so easily.

This happened numerous times to Smart this year, e.g. the crotch grab that got him fined by the league or some of the late-game dumb fouls that he committed after getting (admittedly) robbed on calls.

And this isn't just a Smart-hater saying this either. I'm probably the biggest Smart fan on this board, but I realize his tenacity, fire, and playing style comes with some drawbacks at times. I think Cousins is the same way, but his flaws have been exacerbated in an incredibly unstable and dysfunctional environment. I think there's a really strong chance that Smart would be similar to Cousins in that type of environment.
