I've heard a lot about this kid. If he is eligible to be in this draft, how high could he go?

Unlikely. He got tons of hype after that one highlight video came out  of him crossing up some poor kid in transition and throwing down, but if I recall he was brutal at the hoops summit. Report was that he had exceptionally bad feel for the game, laid bricks left and right, fumbled passes, just looked out of his league. I'm not at all sure he's a first round prospect.

Wow, very interesting. I have only seen highlight videos and also a segment on ESPN a few months ago. Is he all hype or does he make our pick much more valuable? A top 3 pick would be awesome if he actually proves to be legit. If not, I guess he fits more in the Lab mold and we should still be able to grab him later.

Personally I'd say the fact that he has apparently never had any good competition that he would be a candidate for the Philly/Minny pick. Maybe a reach at our pick/ non lottery Mavs pick if he does well in pre draft stuff

A good candidate for the Dallas pick. Man there are a ton of good big prospects in this draft. I don't expect him to stay in though just go through the first evaluation process then pull out.

People should check out the "weaknesses" section in his DX report before getting on the hype train. Sure, he's tall and there are videos of him dunking and making 3's. But the comparisons out there (I've now heard him compared to Dirk, Garnett and Durant) are delusional.

Once considered a potentially transcendent prospect, mostly by uninformed voices based on his Youtube highlight reels, Maker's draft stock has never really gotten off the ground in the eyes of NBA scouts...

His competitiveness, physicality and intensity level are impressive for a 7-footer with a 9'3 standing reach, and the fact that he's been able to add some bulk to his upper body and can knock down an open 3-pointer at times bodes well for his role-playing potential. So will his work ethic and strong character. Still, his lack of offensive polish, pencil thin legs, average feel for the game and explosiveness suggest that may be the extent of his long-term upside. And considering how big the jump is from high school basketball to the NBA, it will likely take years to achieve that, which some teams may feel is not worth the time or effort it will require.
