Said it in the other thread.  I don't blame Russell for hating his situation. The team sucks, the whole season has been a Kobe circus, the team is desperate to lose games and his coach was blatantly stunting his development.  Half the players on that team are ringers there to help the team lose.  I mean what is meta world peace doing getting major minutes on that team?  It's a joke.

If they decide to trade him, I'd gladly take him.  Hes a young immature kid, but he clearly has star potential. 

Okafor is miserable in Philly.  Maybe those teams should finally do an Okafor/Russell swap.  Both teams will make significant changes this summer.  Maybe a fresh start would work in the favor of everyone.

This might hurt LA's supposed attractiveness as a destination for free agents. What high-caliber free agent will want to play with Russell after this incident?

It's for that reason that I think LA will trade Russell. Problem is I'm not sure teams will want him since this crap hit the fan.

Don't condone what Young or Russell have done but Iggy Azalea is a reprehensible fake so won't pretend I feel sympathy for any party. Couldn't have happened to 3 bigger schmucks.

I see a lot of people saying, "his teammates suck and if they can't get over it, get rid of them."  That is fine with the current players, but can you imagine selling K. Durant on playing with the Lakers who won less than 20 games AND his point guard did this to a teammate?  No chance superstars are signing up for that.  You think Lebron is going to play on a team with this guy?  With as much as Lebron wants to protect his brand, no freaking way.

And that is the real problem.  This hurts LA as much as Russell.  Well until they trade or can him anyway.

If this had happened earlier in the year, I could imagine that somehow his teammates devise a way for Russell to do penance, like a series of public humiliations similar to hazing, along with a rituals that cleanse Russell of the sin of snitching and a team re-commitment to loyalty team ceremony, etc. But with so little of the season remaining, there's no time, he's just going to be iced out until the season's over, and the Lakers will be forced to solve the problem with transactions where the Lakers are dealing from desperation. All the while, Russell will probably be booed by his own crowd. Plus away crowds, lol. And this will put a wet, smelly blanket on the Kobe retirement finale, spoil whatever passing-of-the-torch from Kobe to D'Angelo vibe there might have been. Sigh. Couldn't happen to a better franchise, lol.

I apologize if someone has already suggested this, but perhaps Russell made the video to protect himself in case one of his teammates caught him in a compromising position, a la Wade Boggs and his "Delta Force."

Ahh the dangers of tanking. Hope both teams give up on these guys. Very talented players who hopefully never make it work in their locations.
