Poll: Okafor or Buddy Hield

 A hypothetical, we have a chance at both players right now.

 Without getting into what assets would be going out, which player would help the Celtics more short and long term, Buddy Or Okafor.

Okafor if he commits to making an effort to play D -- hands down.  plays a position in which we need to improve.

Hield has less question about his motor but we have a glut of guards already even though he'd likely be the best shooter on the team after IT.

I'm not sure Okafor is the type of 5 that this team is looking for. I seems like DA and CBS are more interested in a 5 that can stretch the floor. He very well could grow into just that. All and all scoring points isn't his problem.

Also, he is not really a defensive minded center of which this team really needs. He could also improve in that way too.
I'm kind of 50-50 on Okafor.

I'd take Okafor over Hield probably, but I wouldn't trade the pick now. Would rather wait and see if we get a top-3 pick, but if we end up at ~#5 then trading for Okafor becomes an option. I'd way rather have Noel, though. We could also look into a trade for a superstar. All of the picks for AD maybe??!?

Okafor is a better prospect than Hield. Okafor is two years younger than Hield, and his freshman numbers blow Buddy's freshman numbers out of the water.

The problem is, I think Philly would want more than just the Brooklyn pick for Okafor. So the question is probably Buddy plus picks for Okafor.

This "younger age" adv is overrated.

Hield is as the complete as they come plus add some. 

Okafor developing fully in the NBA or college, why does it matter?  Maybe you could adv a little quicker in the NBA. But you still have to perfect your ft shooting, your body, your skills etc.

Hield chose to stay in college ball to perfect his game. And now will get rewarded for it

What are my other choices?   

I'm torn in the fact this is a weaker draft in the position of our biggest need, SF.  Therefore, I think I staying put and taking Brown assuming we don't score a top two, unless for some miraculous reason, DA lands KD.

I don't think it's overrated. Studies have shown that on average players peak at at age 27 then begin to decline. Two extra years of development is important.

Hield has improved a lot in college but I see a lot more room for improvement (i.e. more upside). I don't think Buddy will come into the NBA and dominate right away. A lot of his shots he gets off in a tiny window, in the NBA the defense and athleticism makes that window shrink.

Last year is looking like it might be a truly great draft. This year looks like it probably will be an OK at best draft. Hield is probably going to go in the 3-7 range of an OK draft while Okafor went 3 in a very good draft. I like Hield, but taking him over Okafor in terms of value seems like a bad idea.

It's this time of the year; everyone discovers that the so far projected nr 1 pick has flows and falls in love with whomever performed the best in NCAA the last few weeks.

Personally, I doubt Hield will make it to the top-5.

Still, I'm rooting for the kid mainly for the prospect of the Al Busty memes.

Well, you'll get your wish on waiting until we see how the lottery plays out given that we're past the deadline. For what it's worth, I probably wouldn't take Okafor over any top 5 pick after seeing the results.

Lol at us trading for AD. It would take every asset we have and then some. Maybe if the Pelicans hadn't locked him up, but they did and he's not going anywhere.
