What's with the talk of signing a third star? If we bring in KD and Horford it wouldn't be necessary at all.

Horford/Olynyk
Sully/Mickey/Jerebko
Durant/Crowder
Bradley/Smart
Thomas/Rozier

Wouldn't even need to overpay to resign Turner. And we could move Sully and a couple of good picks for a better option at the 4. This team wins a title

Even though KD is like 5 inches taller than Jae, I would consider playing Crowder at the 4 there.  He basically does it now.

Isaiah Thomas is our third star.

Kevin Durant and Al Horford are our 1st and 2nd stars.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Am I biased if I read this as :

I'm coming to Boston this offseason and we are winning an 18th championship fo' this city.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Forget Horford guys.
If we get Durant, we'll have guys lining up to play here.

Is giving Durant the ability to select the player he wants with the brooklyn pick good enough incentive to have him come here?

i think he would rather have input on who we'd trade that pick for.

Yes. Also having him pick who to pick is very much tampering.

I see what you are saying with it being before the free agency period

I've been saying it for a while now.  I genuinely believe Boston has a chance at Durant.

I don't read into his comments, though.  Players always comment on teams they are about to play.  The media pesters them into it.

usually his response is a rant about how he doesnt want to be asked those questions, and that he is happy in OKC :D

Had they asked, "Hey Kev are you considering coming to the Celtics this summer?" that probably would have been the reaction.  But these guys are required to talk to media.  And if the local Boston media asks, "Hey Kev, you have rarely played in Boston, what do you think of the city?" or "Hey Kev, you got a game coming up against the Celtics, what do you think of that team?" and then take his responses to say "Kevin Durant likes the city of Boston.  Kevin Durant likes the young team."... "Clearly this is evidence he's considering Boston", it's kind of silly.  Take his comments for what they are worth.  Not much.

As someone who firmly believes in Bostons' free agency potential and thinks the Celtics have a legit shot at Durant this Summer, I put zero stock into the recent comments.  If he had responded to those questions by saying, "I hate this City.  I hate the players on that team", it would have been something.  This is nothing.
