i don't think LSU's performance in the end matters much to NBA scouts.
Wiggins and Embiid went at #1 & #3 in the 2014 draft despite Kansas' unimpressive exit from the tourney.
I think what most of the scouts are looking for are the direct player attributes that map to the NBA game. In particular, I think they are looking to see if that kid has something, some skill or attribute, that will definitely be an advantage in the NBA. I don't think they put quite as much stock in how the kid's team performs as some fans do.
It's possible that one or two teams might have needs or wants in a player that cause them to put Ingram over Simmons on their board (for example, Philadelphia desperately needs shooting and they have a glut of front court players). But I think for the vast majority Simmons will remain at the top.
