I don't care that LSU didn't make the NCAA tournament, but wow that team was a failure. Embarrassed in the NIT?

I won't put it all on Simmons' shoulders since he is just a Freshman and he can't be held accountable for a whole team, but wow. Too bad he didn't play in Europe one season instead. He could have been paid at least.

He has apparently dropped all classes at LSU and moved to Phoenix until the draft...

Is this normal? Don't they normally go to class still?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Good question.

Another question: if you are bolting to the NBA after one year of "college" and stand a good shot of being picked #1, is dropping your classes in favor of training full-time a bad decision?

Simmonds scares me.  I can't get Michael Beasley out of my mind.  Now I understand that pot does not appear to be an issue but Beasley showed as much talent in college as anyone and bombed.  I just get the feeling there is a chance that happens with Simmons, but that is the risk with any draft pick.  There are no sure things.
.
And all this talk about "fit".  A player projecting to be that good should not have any issue with fit.  The questions should be how do the other players fit him, not how he fits with the team.  Simmons is supposed to be the kind of player you build a team around, not that you fit into a team.

All that said, I am not sure if I would have the guts to pass on him if given the chance.  He will probably go #1.  I would be fine with Ingram or Hield though; Bender, who knows
