Grizzlies
Rockets
Pacers
Thunder
Raptors

While I acknowledge we've played well enough to earn our current position, I also acknowledge the fact that the teams we're ahead of have either stumbled or dealt with injuries. And I tend to believe that is the major contributor to our position.

They have a chance to prove me wrong. these are all playoff teams with length and athleticism...something we struggle against, something we'll see plenty of in the playoffs.

So no excuses imo. It's now or never.

We still don't have Olynyk. That second unit has kind of struggled with Smart's poor shooting and Olynyk not playing.

Not going to make too much of this stretch with no KO.

I don't really get it. We have been playing well for several months and have beat many playoff caliber teams this stretch. Why do these 5 games count for more?

Well we've beaten OKC and Houston on the road, lost to Memphis by 3 on the road, split with Indiana, and lost two to Toronto.  Toronto is the only team we haven't looked good against yet.  I generally like our chances, and will guess we go 3-2.  As you say it will be an interesting and telling stretch.

That's a tough stretch.  I'm hoping for 3 and 2, but would accept 2 and 3.

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Grizzlies should be a walk in the park. Riddled with injuries.

Their starting 5 tonight vs Cavs

Chamlers
Tony Allen
PJ Hairston
JaMychael Green
Ryan Hollins

hehe
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Agreed.  First 4 playoff games matter more.  Lol

I will be ok with somewhere in between the two.

Quick reversal of this train of thought

If we actually won all 5, most would say to small of a sample size to make a clear judgement. So no, one, 5 game stretch determines nothing.

Going 5-0 or O-5 doesn't detemine the outcome of the year, but it definitely tells you a lot about the team.
