I could see that. Good comparison. And after his first couple years, Bogut in Milwaukee, that year before he injured himself, started to become a beast. I would take a guy like that and have him be my center for the next 9 years without hesitation.

You mean a borderline All-NBA Third teamer?

Where do I sign up? I'd love to have a Center like that for our team.

I'm not really going to do much looking at draft prospects until after the Celtics season is over, but I am amused that NBAdraft.net comparisons are:
Poeltl - Andrew Bogut
Ellenson - Brian Scalabrine/Brian Cardinal

It almost feels like choosing between Cauley-Stein and Kaminsky.

i just noticed that on draftexpress, poeltl is now at #6 and ellenson at #8. i guess draftexpress read this thread.  ;D

i would not mind if ainge drafted poeltl. he is supposedly a a great defender. he offense is limited, but with CBS who knows what can happen? sully now has a pretty reliable mid-range 2 point shot.

I just watched Poeltl's Draft Express video and was pretty impressed.  He's more mobile than you might think and has a nice touch finishing at the rim.  His mobility makes him a good pick and roll defender, looks comfortable defending at the perimeter, which I think is a must in today's NBA.  Good size at 7'0, but only average wingspan for that size.

Has improved his free throw shooting from 43% last year to 68% this year, so maybe there's potential for him as mid range shooter.

 I think he'd be a good pick at 5-6, but we're getting a 1 or 2, so it probably doesn't matter.  ;)

Poeltl's at least as likely to become Omer Asik or Kosta Koufos, but the Bogut comparison is nice to ponder.  :)

 The Ellenson comparisons to Scal is disgusting.

 Ellenson is the closest thing I've ever seen to Dirk Diggler. What if Dirk didn't shoot nearly as well but still had great form.

 Ellenson also handles it much better and is a better shot blockers and rebounder. Again it's the jumpshot that's not there yet. If the jumper starts falling more look out.

Ellenson reminds me of Linas Kleiza. Ellenson is taller though.

Wow, he does look and play a lot like Kleiza, great comp Who. The height advantage is significant though and Ellenson possess more leadership qualities than Kleiza who was a quiet, often standoffish Euro from what I remember. Kleiza was a nice piece on that Denver team as Carmelo's backup.
