But if he's waived he doesn't have a choice unless he clears waivers. That's better for Boston.

Bought out players are always waived, it's part of the buyout process.  I don't think we have the ability to add him on waivers, because we aren't under the cap.

There's no way Philly would try to pick him up, right? I'm sure Joe's agent has already called Colangelo saying, "Don't you dare."

Edit: Nevermind, I don't think PHI even has that kind of cap room. POR did, before they took on Varejao for a 1st rounder.

They can't. No one has enough space to claim him.

JJ should sign with Boston so he can finish his career where he 'started'. He did start with Boston, right?

Yeah, despite the buyout the claim has to be for his full salary, right?  Then waivers are even more of a formality than usual.

Yeah I'd be glad to have him.  He's a shooter.   Would be a good fit off our bench.

I believe so. Joe's waiver period is 100% a formality and he'll be a free agent on Saturday at 5 p.m.

He'd be a great fit, but I think it's doubtful he picks us over Cleveland or OKC.

It makes sense. We need both wing depth and shooting (unless James Young suddenly morphs into a functional NBA player.)

I initially thought Shumpert, LeBron and JR Smith was good enough. But JJ gives them that extra lineup flexibility against GSW. Shame to lose minutes to quality big men like K-Love, T.Thompson or T.Mosgov though.

They can only afford to play one of those guys at a time versus Golden State anyway.

Adding Joe would allow them to trot out a lineup like Irving - Shumpert - Joe - Bron - Thompson/Love, which could be tough to handle.

Similarly, if Joe went to OKC, they could trot out a lineup like Westbrook - Waiters/Payne - Joe - Durant - Ibaka.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

He's a closer and Ainge was looking for another one of those. I doubt he comes here though. I could see the clippers or cavaliers getting him.

Johnson, who is averaging 11.8 points on 40.6 percent shooting but has seen an uptick in his performance of late, has been best known for his game-winning shots at the buzzer in Brooklyn. He has seven of them in the past decade, which accounts for the the most by any NBA player over that span by a wide margin, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

Does this seem off to anybody else?  7 game winning shots over the past 10 years leads by a wide margin?  What's the actual metric used here (shots made with 0.00 left? the last shot made at the end of a close game?  Something else?)  Either way, this just seems low to me.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I'm pretty sure I've personally witnessed two this season. My eyes! They burn!

KG looks taller than brook in this pic, and brook Is 7'2 while KG is listed at 6,11 but its commonly known KG doesn't like to be called a 7 footer.

He is like 7'2 and 3/4 or 7'3 in shoes.
