Again I'll say I think they miss Olynyk.  They could use his shooting and passing out there and the space he creates.  We have to remember he's our best shooter.  I think that's why Stevens put RJ in for a bit (just trying to get someone to hit a three).   The bench offense was looking ugly at times.  That stretch before IT got back in near the end for example.

the celtics are simply not a good offensive team. olly adds a lot to the offense so he is sorely missed.

and bucks had the celtics figured out at the end of the game. shut down IT's drive to the paint. he gave the celtics troubles in scoring then.

but, they had enough to pull the game out. but this team needs a scorere, no doubt.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Ugly win. Need to get it together C's. Their identity has changed since the ASG.
Chris Mannix gave a stat earlier that they have given up more points since early January than any other team except the Sixers.  Ugh.

What they figured out is you have to work hard on defense, but they were helped by some bad C's turnovers.

If you really look at this pass.... how did IT see it.  How did he get it off.  How is it so perfect  :o

Without him we can fall into a trap we did last year where we are playing as a fast paced team that jacks threes but don't actually have the shooting to back that up.  Some really ugly games or ugly stretches.  Olynyk can actually shoot the threes and how he pulls guys away from the paint helps others drive.  Plus he drives and dishes himself.  He plays a role but it's a big one for this team I think.  The advanced numbers back that up.

I will say Crowder is becoming much more consistent though.  I have been impressed the last couple of games.  He has looked skilled shooting the ball and going to the rim.

To be honest, that's utterly meaningless. I'm sure the per 100 possessions numbers aren't that bad, although I'd expect they aren't great.

Not meaningless at all.  The point is the identity has changed in the 2nd half. They are scoring a lot more AND giving up more.

My point is that they're one of the fastest paced teams in the NBA. Allowing a ton of points per game doesn't really mean much if you're not allowing a lot of points per possession. On the year the Warriors allow the 5th fewest points per possession, but allow the 10th most points per game because they play at the second fastest pace. Mannix is great, and this is not a criticism of him, but he used the less accurate stat because it paints a much darker picture.

Alright, got the numbers. In February we have a Defensive Rating of 105.8, which would be 8th worst on the year. In January we were at 101.2, which would be 9th best on the season. Meanwhile, our offensive rating of 108 in February would be 4th best on the year. The defense has gone from elite to below average and the offense has gone from average to elite. It's not a perfect situation, but it's also not all doom and gloom.

I'd much rather go back to the elite defense. Might be unpopular, but I firmly believe our offensive streak won't last for much longer. If we can't find ways to score, we will definitely need to find ways to defend. Fortunately for us, however, we seem to play up to our competition. Unfortunately, we also seem to play down to our competition. I hope this means that we put up a legit fight in the playoffs.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Very little Zeller tonight.
I'm cool with that.
Just really want to see Mickey get some burn befor Oly comes back. He could really help us out in the big guy department.
But I guess CBS doesn't think he is ready.
Bummer.

I though Stevens needed to play a shorter rotation but I don't know if I've ever seen a coach go from regularly playing 10 or 11 guys serious minutes to 8 or 9 guys and that's it, in the course of one season.
