About to look it up but curious if Phoenix has Barkley or Nash.  Nash won more MVPs and I suspect won more games there but Barkley's obviously the bigger personality and made the Finals.  Probably Barkley.

EDIT: Yup.  Also it's a travesty the Hawks are Dominique instead of Bob Pettit.  Major recency bias isn't surprising though and maybe Bob not playing in Atlanta factored in.

Did Iverson even play more of his career in Philly than Dr J did?

Iverson left to play in Denver for a few years. Retired early. What did he play? 8 seasons in Philly? Did he really play that much more than Dr J?

Edit: Looked it up. Iverson had 10 full seasons in Philly and bit parts of two others (15 games + 25 games, total of 40 games = half a season) and overall Iverson played 722 games for Philly. Dr J played 11 seasons in Philly and played 836 games.
He had less games, but ended up with more total points and a significantly higher ppg average.  And while Iverson had 114 less games he actually played 1200 more minutes than Erving did.

And had less success.
AI did make the finals in Philly, just like Dr. J did, it wasn't until the Doctor had a guy named Moses that the Sixers made it over the hump.  You could also argue that Mo Cheeks and D. Dawkins were as good a teammate as anyone AI had in his time in Philly.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Well isn't that the point of such things?
Not when you are splitting straws. Like no point.

And shot a substantially worse percentage.  There are statistical arguments to be made either way.  Both are great.  I think Dr. J was a better and more successful player that contributed in more ways, that's all.

Oh sure lets go back to discussing hypothetical trades that may or may never have been discussed based off information based on what may have been a lie by a guy who has it in his best interests not to tell the truth in public.  Productive stuff!

Alex English should really be over David Thompson for the Nuggets.  Sustained high-level play.  Eight All-Stars vs four for Thompson.  Eight straight 2000+ pt seasons.  Problem is a lot more modern fans know Thompson than English, and he was better at his (short) peak.

Dr. J could play with other stars.  AI couldn't.

AI was never given the chance in Philly and he played fairly well with Anthony in Denver.  In fact, in 07/08 both Iverson and Anthony had their most efficient shooting seasons ever playing together.

That is far more a legit exercise of opinions and philosophy than who should represent the 76ers in an illustration. They both are known for their best years as 76ers.
