It would be nice to build around Simmons or Ingram. But you probably have to trade IT and AB. Also if you do have Ingram shouldn't you make Crowder available? That is rough. So maybe it is best to trade the top 2 pick and all the 2nd round picks of 2016 for Cousins. You take the guy who is a top 10 player now because your team is already good. And like what happened with Ray Allen trade maybe then you can successfully pitch to Durant. If you get KD you end up with an elite 9 man rotation
Starters: IT, AB, KD, KO, Cousins
Top 4 bench: Smart, Crowder, Mickey, AJ
Clearly it's a offense starter group and defenders bench but you can switch things up. Maybe Smart starts and/or AJ?

Put that against Cavs current top 9
Irving, Shump, LeBron, Love, Thompson
Delle, Smith, Frye, Moz

Put that against Warriors current top 9
Curry, Thompson, Barnes, Green, Bogut
Iggie, Barbosa, Livingston, Speights

Raptors top 9
Lowry, DeRozan, Carrol, Scola, Val
Joseph, Ross, Powell, Biyombo

Spurs top 9
Parker, Green, Leonard, LA, TD
Mills, Gino, West, Diaw

So yeah I deal the top 2 pick for Cousins and just a shot at KD.

I am very worried that even if we land pick 1 or 2 in the lottery, that Ainge will trade it for an "established star." This really worries me because with a top 2 pick you basically get them guaranteed the first 9 years of their career (they rarely leave after their rookie contract), and I think Ingram is going to be a transcendent - TRANSCENDENT - talent. I think he will be as good as Durant (although they play different positions), and given how we have a nice young core and other trade chips, I'm hoping that due to our impatient fan base (as well as Danny also being impatient) that we don't make a move like the Cavs did that we regret.
What position do you think Ingram will play?

It probably doesn't matter too much with the NBA becoming more positionless - I would say 2 to start as he's so skinny and then 3.

Ingram can't even defend college 3s on the perimiter let alone nba 2s. He'd get cooked.

Ingram looked terrible today. I don't see any kind of hustle or killer instinct in him at all. I wouldn't pick him.

That was perhaps his worst game of the year.  He's an 18 year old kid.  Simmons was bad yesterday too.

Don't read too much into 1 game.

If one of the top 2 picks is going to be a transcendental player, then Danny would likely draft him.  If Danny doesn't think they're a transcendental player, but some people on this board do, then I don't really care, I'm siding with Danny.

I'd much rather have an established star than the crap-shoot of a "possible" transcendental player (like Durant/Oden).
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Ingram is clearly going to defend 3s in the NBA. Physically he is very similar to Tayshaun Prince.

As for the fear of trading a top 2 pick I trust DA. This trade deadline has made it clear that he values the pick and will not waste it on quick limited turn around.
