Apparently the Bulls are seeking a rotation player and a first round pick for Pau Gasol. Maybe something like Sullinger and the Mavs first rounder or our own first rounder. We could even throw in Evan Turner too if we wanted to clear out some of the logjam.

No thanks to any deal involving Pau at this point in his career.

I've heard that any team that trades for Gasol (or if he stays in Chicago) will not have full Bird Rights to resign him, and may instead need to rely on cap space.

I have a feeling that CHI will ask for way more in return than most GMs will be willing to give up, given the uncertainties of retaining Gasol beyond the current season.

Bird Rights really don't matter when it comes to teams under the cap like us though right?  How much could Gasol and his agent really expect, knowing his body could fall apart at any minute, and any minor injury could end his career.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Duh!!

But the real question is, what will they be seeking at 2:45 tomorrow?

That asking price will absolutely not be met unless it's an end of draft 1st.

Danny better have an offer on the table of Zeller and/or Jerebko and/or Mickey, Young, Hunter, Rozier and the PHI 2nd (plus additional 2nds and maximum amount of cash).

Gasol has a player option for next season, so if he opts out he'll only have Early-Bird Right's.

It looks like Gasol is making ~ $7.5 mil this year, so a team could offer him up to ~ $13 mil without needing to use cap space.

I have no idea if that will be enough to retain Gasol.

Yes on Gasol if he opts into his final year. Having 2 All Stars who each make around 7mil a year is a solid foundation to bring a third max guy in! Honestly, I'd go for Horford and Gasol. Get 'em both! Then the KD pipe dream this summer...  :P

An emphatic NO for me.

Gasol is a great player, bit he's ancient and couldn't possibly be any help beyond this year and maybe next year at best.

Adding somebody who's 30 is one thing (Horford, Dwight), but adding somebody as old as Gasol makes really very little sense for us.

Hes going to do nothing to start free agents either, because they'll all know that hes not going to be here ( and useful) for more than two years.

Rumor was that the Bulls were interested in drafting Rozier, so perhaps he and Zeller would be part of the framework
