2017 might be a strong draft but it doesn't have a Simmons or even Ingram in that draft

@kmattio The Tatum-Giles debates will be very, very fun. The comparisons won't be (even though I think I like both them more than Simmons).

This is classic puffery. On the 1% chance those players explode, he can go barking about it. Otherwise no one will remember him saying it.

Besides freakish athleticism and great size, what does Giles have going for him? I'm not as up on the 2017 Draft as I'd like to be, but from what I've seen, I really like Josh Jackson.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Good looking prospect along with Jackson. Still no comparison to Simmons/Ingram level

What happened to this?

I want Simmons or Brown.

But not Ingram subject with a top 5 type pick (to move up)

Rather pick Jackson later on

Maybe if he was the only one saying it, but he's not.

Healthy Harry Giles.
@GoodmanESPN if you had to start a team with Ben Simmons, Jayson Tatum, or healthy Harry Giles. Who are you picking?

Exactly. The Giles comparisons are to Webber, a highly skilled/highly athletic big that can literally do it all on the court.

Here's a quote from Sam Vecine about how the 2017 draft could be the best draft in a long time.

Quote
LAS VEGAS -- The 2017 NBA draft is still 23 months away, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be excited about it. Already, due to the strongest high school class we've seen pass through American hoops in a long time, NBA teams that have multiple picks coming over the course of the next couple years are gearing up for what could be a draft similar to the ones in 2003 and 2008 -- the last two major influxes of talent in the NBA.

That's getting a little dated.  Here's the latest Draft Express Mock:  http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2017/.

Keep in mind that these things change like crazy.  Thon Maker was supposed to be the next great thing, already has dropped to 25th in the DE mock.

What is interesting is that 2 of the top 5 prospects in 2017 already have torn acl's. Something needs to be done to provide these "amature" players, as per definition of the NCAA, proper athletic trainers and professional level health care. Sad to see these kids coming down with potentially devastating injuries.

The 2017 Draft looks like it's going to be amazing. Would love to be able to trade our own 1st and Dallas' pick this year for some lottery tickets next year.
indeed, this is a draft where draftexpress has thon maker going in the 25th pick. Amazing draft, DA really should go after more picks in 2017.

Despite the nonbelievers, the Nets will be giving us another top 5 pick in 2017, so we'll be getting another highly touted prospect regardless.

I'm a bit worried they'll be able to buy their way out of the bottom five. I expect another top ten pick at least.

They's have to sign Horford and a stud wing and then stay healthy to make it out of the bottom five next year....sheeesh I hope Horford is pickier than that and doesn't go there.

nothing.  Ingram is not a smooth fit under CBS.  But the way he has progressed/elite scoring capability, you grab him at #2

I can't wait to bring up stuff from the past you said about Mickey if you want to play this game ;)

doesn't matter if Kevin O'Connor disagrees with me.

Simmons is still at a higher level imo

Giles is also recovering from a partial torn ACL.   Off to a healthy start

Yeah, I like a lot of Kevin O's work, but his draft stuff often comes across like that.

Giles is going to be very good assuming he gets healthy.

Regarding the kid in this topic, it's not Hartenstein, it's Hartenstein's monster. Get it right.
