Actually bit surprised I didn't see a thread on this.  Apparently was involved in an undisclosed team incident where he injured his right hand.  The belief is it is broken.  He will be out weeks as a result.  All over Mike and Mike this morning.  Haven't seen anything as to what the incident was or how he injured the hand.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

The altercation started in a restaurant. It proceeded outside where Griffin hit the equipment staffer multiple times. #Clippers

Blake Griffin hopefully gets fined, suspended and booed. Hopefully the staffer sues and wins. Griffin as we all know is a .... I feel for Doc. It looks like he is going to have to coach a rebuild after all. LOL
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Maybe he is on the trading block [for real] now?

Blake does not seem the violent high strung type to me.  He strikes me as a quiet type.

I bet he pulled a Fab Melo ......did something clumsey , fell in the shower ,  caught it on the rim in practice ,  fell on it ,  fell off a stool drunk .   Car accident would be resin on to,keep, quiet .

He is very likey victim to be sued for ANY thing he might do even if it totally accidental in nature when and why it occurred.

I suspect he trying to,avoid some bogus law suit

What would you trade for a guy who is injured and injured why out injured allegedly assaulting a team employee?  He might be looking at assault charges.  He might be out the rest of the year with his fractured hand.

Would you want to bring that guy into your locker room?  The equipment staff would probably demand raises.

Pipe dream. I think it's far more likely they replace the equipment staff member than trade a top 10 player in his prime.

There's never been any incidents reported involving Blake before, so maybe let's get the facts before we condemn him as a locker room cancer.

what does it say about that team's culture that, after punching the guy inside the restaurant, no one stopped Blake from cruising outside and continuing the assault?

This doesn't mean he's getting trading or anything, but as an opportunistic team looking to trade itself to relevancy, chaos is our friend. No telling what sort of dominos this pushes in LA.

Sometimes that's how you get a bargain though.

Suns traded away Jason Kidd who at the time was reigning All-NBA 1st team, All-Defensive 1st team, and league leader in assists, because he beat his wife (for the moral upgrade that was Stephon Marbury no less).  Then he immediately led his new team to back-to-back Finals appearances.

Of course that's the only example I can think of, and that was 15 years ago, but there's hope!  Blake Griffin for Sully!

Edit: Knicks also traded for Sprewell at a bargain price after he chokes his coach, then he immediately leads the Knicks to the Finals.  Of course that was even further back in '99.  Moral of the story, if you can trade for a violent man, do it, guaranteed trip to the Finals!

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

That's not totally true.  He was charged with battery at a nightclub in 2014.

Depending on Doc's view of the staffers role in all this, I could see this leading to a Blake deal for this reason and this reason alone--

Quote
The Clippers have gone 11-3 in his absence.

Lee & Smart for Blake would make a lot of sense.
LA would finally get the defensive stopper they need.  Smart would be a legitimate weapon in the West with his ability to matchup favorably against the likes of Harden, Westbrook and Curry.

Great way for Doc to save face & improve the team both short & long term, all in one feel swoop.
