This doesn't mean he's getting trading or anything, but as an opportunistic team looking to trade itself to relevancy, chaos is our friend. No telling what sort of dominos this pushes in LA.

Depending on Doc's view of the staffers role in all this, I could see this leading to a Blake deal for this reason and this reason alone--

Quote
The Clippers have gone 11-3 in his absence.

Lee & Smart for Blake would make a lot of sense.
LA would finally get the defensive stopper they need.  Smart would be a legitimate weapon in the West with his ability to matchup favorably against the likes of Harden, Westbrook and Curry.

Great way for Doc to save face & improve the team both short & long term, all in one feel swoop.

Lee & Smart for Blake?!?!?!  Jeff Blake or Blake Griffin?  Not even close.

Yeah, they'd have to give us a 1st to make it even.  And Pierce back.   ;D

If you think the Clippers would be better off with a defensive stopper than a superstar, why would you want to make the trade at all?

Griffin for Love
This interesting. I feel like Love is probably a better fit for the Clippers because he's a better shooter but I think Griffin is the superior player.

I don't really see the fit of adding Griffin to Cleveland though. The Cavs don't run a ton and that is where Griffin's bread is buttered. Griffin is more of a roll big man than the pop big man that fits better with LeBron.

I'm not really sure what type of players would be a fit in a trade for Love. Do they need to get someone that allows them to go small and battle with the Warriors death lineup? Do they need to add more shooting? Do they need more defense?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Maybe he is on the trading block [for real] now?

Pipe dream. I think it's far more likely they replace the equipment staff member than trade a top 10 player in his prime.

Maybe he is on the trading block [for real] now?

What would you trade for a guy who is injured and injured why out injured allegedly assaulting a team employee?  He might be looking at assault charges.  He might be out the rest of the year with his fractured hand.

Would you want to bring that guy into your locker room?  The equipment staff would probably demand raises.

There's never been any incidents reported involving Blake before, so maybe let's get the facts before we condemn him as a locker room cancer.

That's not totally true.  He was charged with battery at a nightclub in 2014.

The charges were dropped because they couldn't prove the allegations.

Look, I'm not saying Griffin is a saint but declaring him a locker room cancer and how some wouldn't want him the C's locker room seems premature at best.

In a restaurant dispute Blake reportedly punched an Equipment manager and broke his hand.

Nice job Blame, Doc must be thrilled.

I've got two words.

Roid.

Rage.

with chatter about Chris Paul being traded to Cleveland for Kyrie Irving (which makes sense), I think it unlikely that Griffin will get moved anytime soon.

Doc Rivers on Blake Griffin incident: "This conduct has no place in our organization ... and does not represent who we are as a team."

Surprised to see Doc coming down on one of his star players so hard. Must have been pretty ugly.

I think that's fair, and I would tend to agree with you that it is premature to say he's a cancer in the locker room.  Just merely noting this isn't his first incident of alleged violence.  When I lived in Dallas I hung out with some girls from OU and met up with him at a bar one night during the lockout and didn't get the impression that he was anything but a stand up dude.
