How dismissive would the OP be if it were talking about the possibility of Durant signing with the Cs? Either way, it's nonsense.
if ESPN wrote a front page article about the distinct possibility of Durant joining Boston this summer, I'd gladly share it.

I didn't write the article.  I thought it was relevant because it counters a lot of the "Brooklyn has no hope" nonsense.  They play in a huge market, have a couple decent players and cap space.  I wouldn't bank on those picks amounting to much.  They have no incentive to lose.

Interesting article on ESPN about the potential of Brooklyn signing Kevin Durant:  http://espn.go.com/blog/brooklyn-nets/post/_/id/23429/examining-a-seemingly-implausible-scenario-durant-to-nets

Probably unlikely, but speaks to one of the reasons I don't value those future Brooklyn picks all that much. They play in Brooklyn and will have cap space... you can't rule out the possibility of them building a competent team regardless of having no draft picks.

This season is panning out wonderfully, though.  Gotta love the potential to add a top 5 pick from them this Summer.
and that speaks to the reason very few put any stock in anything you say.  as someone else said previously, if the article said Celtics instead of Nets (which would be a far more likely scenario) you'd bash that possibility as a ridiculous impossibility.
Complete nonsense.

I shared an article from the front page of ESPN about Durant and Brooklyn.   If you don't like it, go troll ESPN.

Fyi, I keep bumping a thread I created about how Kevin love could still possibly be traded. Obviously suggesting that Boston could still grab him, however unlikely...  So the premise that I'd bash an ESPN article about Durant possibly coming to Boston is pretty moronic.

Also in multiple threads I've defended bostons free agency potential.  In several threads I've pointed out that ainge is unlikely to trade for someone like Gallo, because he wants to maintain enough cap space to go after a couple superstars like Durant (however unlikely).  So perhaps before someone puts my name on the streets they oughta put word in with me first.

Let's use recent history as what will happen with Brooklyn.

The Knicks this past summer.

Play in a huge market (bigger than Brooklyn in fact)..check

Had cap space (without the amount of teams with cap space this summer)...check

Had a couple of decent players star....check

The best they did was sign Afflalo and R. Lopez and badly whiffed on Monroe (signed with Milwaukee) and Alridge (signed with San Antonio).

You're very optimistic when it comes to non-Celtics news.

The article is ridiculous, but LarBird does have a good point here, he didn't write the article.  Nice post.

Eddie, I ignore 90% of what you write on these forums these days. It seems your sole existence on this forum is to troll me and misrepresent my opinions.  Go find someone else to harass.

Mike Mazzeo, he states un the headline "seemingly  implausible scenario". No Mike its not seemingly implausible. It's not happening.

If Durant wants to go to a crap team in a big market he's going to the Lakers with Russell, Randle, probably a top pick this year.

More likely is he stays put in OKC. His window is closing best to stay in OKC if he wants a ring.

Ed it's a front page ESPN article about Durant potentially going to Brooklyn. What if that happens ?

Focus on that.  Focus less on "larbrd33 I can read your mind and I can speak for your opinions".  You do that in nearly every thread and it's incredibly annoying.  It started with you adamantly accusing me of being a Philly fan.  You were suspended for that.  Find someone else to harass.  If I post a thread and you have a relevant opinion, by all means share it. But do it without saying "larbrd33 would blah blah blah blah if blah blah blah".  Speak for yourself. I'll speak for myself.  Thanks.

You are right that it's possible, but I'm guessing any hubbub about the possibility of Durant signing in Brooklyn is generated by the NBA league office to maintain some level of interest in Brooklyn as a franchise. ESPN also wrote an interesting article claiming that Brooklyn, not Philadelphia, is the NBA's biggest problem right now. While Philadelphia can say "look at these great prospects we have, look at the high-potential picks we own," etc., all Brooklyn can say to its fan-base and the NBA league office is "maybe we'll convince a premier free agent to come join a terrible team whose best player is an injury-prone, non-modern big man." This article seems like a gesture of pity to Brooklyn's fans. Maybe they will sign Durant. But it is incredibly unlikely.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

LB, but it does sound as though you think it's likely they land a FA judging by you not valuing their future Nets picks much. I'm merely disputing that notion with a similar northeast team from this past summer that was in a better situation any with less competition. If that's any indication then the Nets won't get anyone noteworthy.

Why so defensive?

You know why I'm defensive.  You troll me in every thread I post in and I'm pretty fed up with seeing you misrepresent my opinions.  While I'm sure you and others get a kick out of turning me into a caricature and fabricating my opinions, it's gotten pretty old and it's not really within the behavior guidelines of this forum.  If you want to know my actual opinions, just ask.

Do I think Brooklyn will land Durant ?  Nah. Probably not.

Do I think its impossible for Brooklyn to improve this summer?  Of course not... They have cap space and Brooklyn is an intriguing destination.  They have every incentive to overpay for talent that will push them towards mediocrity.

Do I think Boston is incapable of signing free agents ?  Of course not.  You have seen me say this in several threads.  It's a prestige franchise with an elite coach and front office.  It's one of the 5 largest fan bases nationally, it's a decent sized market and we have a solid winning culture and foundation in place already.  If Durant tests free agency, he should be absolutely taking Boston's calls.

Do I think Boston will sign Durant ?  Nah. Probably not.  But I do believe the rumors that ainge is unlikely to take on a contract like Gallo and probably wants to put this team in position to at least offer two max contracts this summer.

That said, there hasn't been anything tying Durant to Boston yet... And this ESPN article makes a case that Brooklyn is an option for KD.  It admits it seems unlikely now, but makes a case for why it's possible.  How that relates to us is that it suggests we might be best off moving the Brooklyn picks before the deadline while they have peak value... You never know what might happen this summer.

So much for Lar ignoring 90% of what Eddie posts....

Lar, it's clickbait and nothing more. There's no substance here. No smoke. No fire. Nothing. He could sign with the Nets. It's not an impossibility. But realistically there's at least (and I'm being exceptionally conservative here) a dozen teams that can offer him the same salary and a significantly better opportunity to win. Clickbait. Learn to deal with it.

What if Fuzzy wuzzy was not a bear?

What if a one legged duck did not swim in a circle?

What if water were not wet?

What if Ainge were really a Yankees fan?

And, if the Queen had balls, she'd be the king.  (NO, not that Cavs guy!!)
