LB, but it does sound as though you think it's likely they land a FA judging by you not valuing their future Nets picks much. I'm merely disputing that notion with a similar northeast team from this past summer that was in a better situation any with less competition. If that's any indication then the Nets won't get anyone noteworthy.
Why so defensive?
You know why I'm defensive. You troll me in every thread I post in and I'm pretty fed up with seeing you misrepresent my opinions. While I'm sure you and others get a kick out of turning me into a caricature and fabricating my opinions, it's gotten pretty old and it's not really within the behavior guidelines of this forum. If you want to know my actual opinions, just ask.
Do I think Brooklyn will land Durant ? Nah. Probably not.
Do I think its impossible for Brooklyn to improve this summer? Of course not... They have cap space and Brooklyn is an intriguing destination. They have every incentive to overpay for talent that will push them towards mediocrity.
Do I think Boston is incapable of signing free agents ? Of course not. You have seen me say this in several threads. It's a prestige franchise with an elite coach and front office. It's one of the 5 largest fan bases nationally, it's a decent sized market and we have a solid winning culture and foundation in place already. If Durant tests free agency, he should be absolutely taking Boston's calls.
Do I think Boston will sign Durant ? Nah. Probably not. But I do believe the rumors that ainge is unlikely to take on a contract like Gallo and probably wants to put this team in position to at least offer two max contracts this summer.
That said, there hasn't been anything tying Durant to Boston yet... And this ESPN article makes a case that Brooklyn is an option for KD. It admits it seems unlikely now, but makes a case for why it's possible. How that relates to us is that it suggests we might be best off moving the Brooklyn picks before the deadline while they have peak value... You never know what might happen this summer.
