Myles Turner should be a lesson to all

Using vets that have no legit future with this team not only inflates our regular season wins but also clogs the roster and makes it near impossible to develop players(Mickey, RJ, Young, and etc). I just need to make this my sig, but Ainge should have waived Bass, Jonas, and Gigi at the trade deadline. Stevens got IT who was by far the best upgrade we could have hoped for for the cost and it would have made sense to make room for player development and clearing roster space in order to add some more players that could have potential.

Turner can turn out to be a scrub but this"depth" mode  needs to stop if we are to be a contender again. Just counting on the BKN picks is its own form of the lottery and conservative posters/fan's do not want to count on having a top pick in every draft till 2018.

IMO Turner should be on our team. Had we lost just 3 games we could have drafted him ourselves and many posters wanted him/Portis. To see Karl Towns go number one and Turner go 11th was not a complete shock to me because of other variables, but I hoped we would have traded for him.

Turner reminds me of Big Al and how we were lucky to get him, but we all know DA wanted Swift who turned out to be a dud but did have injuries and maybe in another life could be good. I feel as though we missed out on a great trade asset in Myles Turner/ or a future Star.

Turner has the skill-set and the mindset but he does have the hip/glute issue. IMO he has shown huge strides from the end of college with his hips and running. His docs and 3rd party docs said it could take 2 years until he is fully clear of these running/gait problems. As of now he looks to be cut from the same cloth as Towns, just not as successful or polished. but if or when he clears up the gait problem then he actually may be the best BIG in this draft
IMO he was by far the best option and was a great value pick at 11....should have been us.

It's unlikely that Turner will ever be as good as KAT is now. Towns is freaking unbelievable. He's a once in a generation, transformative talent. Turner is a nice player, but he's the type of guy who you can find in most drafts these days (Poeltl).

Here's a serious proposal. I call for a thread locked to everyone except you and Triboy. You will both then get to compete in several challenges in order to retain your CsBlog life.

Round 1: Argue your obsessive ideas to carpal tunnel -- Mickey vs. Myles/tanking -- for 24 hours. He who adds something novel/worth reading to his argument, over and above that of his competitor, wins the round.

Round 2: Predict the statline (counting stats--pts, rebs, asst, stl, blk) for your binkie's next game. For Mickey, D-League of course. The closer prediction wins the round unless Mickey makes a 3 pointer or Turner runs straight for >3 strides. In either case (or both), voting goes to the general population in order to make sense of the outlier and award a point.

Round 3: A verbal reasoning test will be administered within the thread and answers will be collected via PM. I can not say whether a point will be awarded to the individual with the higher or lower score, but I can say that effort testing will be embedded within the protocol.

Best 2/3 returns to the general population. Let the games begin.

It's the truth. He could be a dud if health issues hurt him. But he does have the skill-set and game that would help this team in the future.

And he does not need to be a Star or HOF for a team to like him enough to package our assets including him for a better/star player. He has the type of game and skill that infatuates other GM's. It's not like anyone can really go out and get KAT but you may be able to take a risk and get Turner.

You know of a lot of Big's that can block shots and spread the floor? Outside of this draft class, AD and Ibaka were the only ones last year. This year Hortford and idk....who else I don't think Bosh should be concidered. TP if you anyone can spout out an elite shot-blocker that spreads the floor.
