This year I'm rooting for Nets losses over everything else.
I do hope we make the playoffs but I want that Nets pick in the top 3 more than anything.
That would be a good poll question. ..
'Would you prefer making the playoffs or having a top 3 pick with the Nets pick-you can only pick one'
If we can't have both, then the clear choice is to take the top draft pick.
We haven't had much luck with the ping pong balls, but maybe the law of averages will work out this time. We will either get a solid top prospect at a Marcus Smart level or maybe we can get a top two pick.
This team is fun, but it looks doubtful we will have a run like Stevens did with Butler. Though we have to wait for the trade deadline to know for sure. I think a lot of people take it for granted how far this team has improved since the KG/Pierce trade.
People are already talking about treadmills? That has nothing to do with anything unless you're the Houston Rockets, Memphis, Atlanta, Indiana, that type of team.
Unless we get fireworks, there are only a few teams with a realistic chance of winning the title.
So yes, hopefully Danny doesn't do anything rash. Brooklyn continues to lose games despite having no reason to tank.
Maybe we should try to get Brook Lopez. We trade the Nets something like Sully, Lee, Young, and their 2017 draft pick, the one we swap.
It would be a win-win. The Nets could focus on rebuilding and only have to wait one year to tank, not three. It's not a good situation for Brooklyn.
Or if we could get Dwight Howard at a decent price, I would do that.
I don't want to put all our eggs into Cousins. It is better to go slow and steady than to go all in, imho.
Could we be a top contender with Brook Lopez? Maybe.
Or trade with someone else for a decent big.
Or be patient. It's a different league and center rim protection is not as crucial to team success as it once was.
