I got to say I fist pump out loud every time I see the Nets lose a game, Tp exchange if you do too. Fpol, I'm going to coin that phrase fist pumping out loud. Like Muchae Buffer.

Let's just take a moment and say thank you we get to enjoy a situation that almost never happens in the NBA, to have a decent competitive team that really fights and there about to receive top talent for hopefully three more years, is really incredible.

Cheers, respectfully and without malice to each and every Brooklyn Loss, it really makes me happy.

Have to love Isaiah continuing to kill Phoenix after all of the issues he had with them, Kelly reminding us that he's one of our -if not our #1- most fundamentally sound players and seeing Smart take another step in his development while finding more success getting switched on to stretch PF/Cs.

All that being taken into account... Brooklyn lost again! It's starting to feel like they are digging themselves into a whole that they cant get out of. Any one of Simmons/Ingram/Bender could end up as a foundational piece for us or be the asset we need to finally net us a top 30 player.

Close call but gotta say that I might just root against Brooklyn more than I root for Boston this year. We've had great development so far and I'm happy to see Amir finally settled in but when we're knocking on the championship's door every year it's more likely to be on the back of a player that is not currently on this roster.

The enemy of Brooklyn is a friend to Boston.

For me, the Brooklyn loss, unquestionably.

I'm not overly concerned about our W-L column, tbh. I don't think we have enough to make some serious noise in the playoffs, and we're not bad enough to vie for the top pick in the lottery. So for me, Celtics games are more about watching guys develop, particularly Smart.

I admit, I am a rather pathetic Celtic fan. I'm pump'n my fist with every Celtic loss too.

Wish the C's would wake up after making the same mistake the last two seasons and realize that it doesn't pay to win. In the past I used to be cautiously optimistic after every win. Now, the pro tank crowd has awakened me from my follies.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This year I'm rooting for Nets losses over everything else.
I do hope we make the playoffs but I want that Nets pick in the top 3 more than anything.

That would be a good poll question. ..
'Would you prefer making the playoffs or having a top 3 pick with the Nets pick-you can only pick one'
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No way Celtics can win the east long as LeBron is in his prime.   He pretty much still control whatever team conference he is associated with........and CBS doesn't tank ......so it is what it is.

So......I'm more interested in seeing the Nets get slaughtered every night.

That's a great way of wording a poll for the OP's title and honestly I'd be amazed if anyone would rather make the playoffs over a top 3 Nets pick... At this point that Nets pick is crucial to our future success and next step as a team, either through the draft or as a trade chip.. we have great pieces in IT, Crowder, and Smart and I wish this team well but if I had to choose one of those I'd much rather miss the playoffs and grab a couple of lotto picks than make it and get swept in the first round...

I am rooting for the Nets to lose, but I root harder for the Celtics to win.

Nets losing.

Let's be honest this Celts team isn't going to win a championship this year. Its great to make the playoffs and I hope they do just like last year. However, their isn't enough talent on this roster. If we can get two lottery picks out of this year it wouldn't be all that terrible for us long term and tradewise.

I am sure there  is another thread on this question but anyway what this poll results shows is that there  are more prone to Kershaw out there than will admit it. If we did not have the nets pick we would be more concerned about the fortunes of our own pick. The Nets pick is a proxy for our own pick

Definitely the Celtics winning, but mostly because the Celtics won't win as many games as the Nets will lose
I'm bitter.

Brooklyn losses. I enjoy watching our players play their game, but there's less of a margin for error when it comes to the Nets' losing record. It might not matter too much if we are 3 games over 500 or 6 games over 500, we should still be in a similar place. I guess you could say that 8th seed is way worse than 7th seed, but honestly, I think we'll be looking at the 7th, 6th, or even 5th seed, and it doesn't really matter which one that is.

One extra win for the Nets, on the other hand, could mean the difference between 3rd best odds in the lottery and 4th best odds, and the lottery is so top heavy that could mean the difference between a franchise player and a quality starter, or a quality starter and a role player. The Nets need to lose every game for this season to be a success. The Celtics don't necessarily need to win every game for this season to be a success.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

I'm as anti-tank as they come but at this stage I'm more happy if the Nets lose than if we win. What the first half of the season has shown is that we retain all the hallmarks of frustrating inconsistency we showed last year plus a few extra ones to boot.

It would be nice to make the playoffs given we have someone else's pick to root for but I see no need to don the sackcloth and ashes if we don't.
