I'm more excited by a Celts win, but big picture, I'm a lot more excited about the possibilities of that Nets first round pick than I am about what this Celts team may or may not do this year.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

A Brooklyn loss to one of the tanking teams is oh so delicious.

A Nets' loss, no doubt. I can't believe how nuts I get when the Nets win and how much I curse the team that loses to them, including those two times against us.

We aren't winning any championships this year. Barring any deadline moves by Danny, I'm not sure that we will make the playoffs.

Celtics win for sure.  I know the Nets' losses are in the big picture more valuable, but I root for the Celtics, not for a series of another team's opponents.

Nets loss, definitely.
Nets pick could win us a championship.

I think a better way to ask is are you more depressed by a Celtics loss or a Nets win. I am seriously bummed when the Nets win. I don't get excited when the Nets lose - more relieved than anything.

I get much more upset this year when the Nets win as compared to the Celtics losing. I attribute Celtics losses to growing pains and not having a go to end of game scorer. Every loss by the Nets gets us a teeny bit closer to getting a go to scorer/game changer, potential superstar that we desperately need  to bring us closer to becoming a championship caliber team.

I had a funny thought the other day and thought, what if we missed the playoffs and ended up with a low lottery slot that becomes number 1 and the Nets pick also is in the top 3  ;D Not likely but it did cross my brains thought process on how we could get to the promised land sooner rather than later. I believe we are so overdue for some lottery luck.

On  a different note, the Nets trade was so horrible for the Nets that having their pick become number 1 this year would make so much sense on so many levels.

This year I'm rooting for Nets losses over everything else.
I do hope we make the playoffs but I want that Nets pick in the top 3 more than anything.

That would be a good poll question. ..
'Would you prefer making the playoffs or having a top 3 pick with the Nets pick-you can only pick one'

If we can't have both, then the clear choice is to take the top draft pick.

We haven't had much luck with the ping pong balls, but maybe the law of averages will work out this time. We will either get a solid top prospect at a Marcus Smart level or maybe we can get a top two pick.

This team is fun, but it looks doubtful we will have a run like Stevens did with Butler. Though we have to wait for the trade deadline to know for sure. I think a lot of people take it for granted how far this team has improved since the KG/Pierce trade.

People are already talking about treadmills? That has nothing to do with anything unless you're the Houston Rockets, Memphis, Atlanta, Indiana, that type of team.

Unless we get fireworks, there are only a few teams with a realistic chance of winning the title.

So yes, hopefully Danny doesn't do anything rash. Brooklyn continues to lose games despite having no reason to tank.

Maybe we should try to get Brook Lopez. We trade the Nets something like Sully, Lee, Young, and their 2017 draft pick, the one we swap.

It would be a win-win. The Nets could focus on rebuilding and only have to wait one year to tank, not three. It's not a good situation for Brooklyn.

Or if we could get Dwight Howard at a decent price, I would do that.

I don't want to put all our eggs into Cousins. It is better to go slow and steady than to go all in, imho.

Could we be a top contender with Brook Lopez? Maybe.

Or trade with someone else for a decent big.

Or be patient. It's a different league and center rim protection is not as crucial to team success as it once was.

Its short term satisfaction, where I am happy if the celtics win, but ultimately we wont win big because Steph Curry is Steph Curry. When Brooklyn looses I am thrilled they did so, and as happy a few days afterwards after their loss. I even consider going to a few of their home games just to cheer against them, no matter the team.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I went with Brooklyn loss for the purpose of this thread, but I think another fun question would be:

"More disappointed in a Celtic loss or a Brooklyn win"

I wonder if the results of your poll might change dramatically.

more disappointed in a Brooklyn win. We really need the Nets pick to be top 3.
