Serge Ibaka

I can see that. What type of numbers do you expect Mickey to put up, and can he ever been a go to guy, or 2nd/3rd option on a good team?

I expect him to be a glue guy. With his defense and improving jump-shot, Mickey looks a good bet to be an average to above average starting PF. I would be surprised if he became more than that but you never know for sure. It'd be a surprise though.

Type of numbers = 11-14ppg + 8-9rpg. Plus, 3+ combined blocks & steals per game.

I'm curious as to what Triboy thinks. Definitely a hybrid between multiple HOF's, but the question is which ones.

Mickey ceiling is a better shot blocking but 6'8 version of Bosh.

So he has HOF potential.

Is chrish Bosh a future HOF?

Mickey is going to be a gem but not likely a future hof.

Prob not even an all star. But as effective as David west/taj Gibson

Yes! He's been an all-star 10 times. Basketball reference has him at a 98.6% HOF probability, which is even higher than Durant.

It's hard to tell.  He times he leap so well and is a super instinctive shot blocker.  His offense is also surprisingly polished and well rounded ala  bosh.  He's just undersized.  He isn't the greatest athlete in the world either.

If the HOF committee actually cared who belongs in the HOF or not, bosh would not be in there.

He has carried teams to nowhere as the main man.

Lots of players have scored 18-20ppg throught out their careers.  Fan favs and make all star games. Does this mean Carmelo Anthony should make the HOF?

That will be a joke if that happens

I don't see him as an explosive athlete as some of those guys mentioned. Ibaka imo is somewhat overrated though because of his explosive nature but fundamentally he isn't that great a player.  Mickey is more polished imo in ways and instinctive but both guys are as far as shot blocking.

Rozier to me is really the guy who is the explosive athlete of this group of rookies. Mickey is the most polished and instinctive.

Your serious right? Mickey is as explosive as they come.  You think you have a layup and its swatted away in a blink of an eye. If that is not explosive I don't know what is

Some posters have mentioned this already, and I'm going to try my best not to be an echo so I'll put it like this.

What the Celtics want Amir Johnson to do right now is what I expect the Celtics to want from Jordan Mickey in the future with the only difference being that they expect Mickey to be a better shooter than Amir.

The highest ceiling I have for Mickey is being the prototypical small-ball 5. A rim protector who can run the floor and provide spacing. I see him having a great future here as a Celtic. I don't think he'll be a star, but I think he'll be a glue guy.

A lot of greats have not taken their team to the promised land. Does that mean they shouldn't be in the HOF? Yes, Anthony will make the HOF too. He's about to pass Bird in all time scoring, has made 8 HOF's, and won a college title. His overall body of work easily makes him a first ballot HOF.

Read my last post.  He times his leaps very well and is instinctive.  There is a difference between that and being an explosive athlete.

Rozier is really the most explosive athlete out of any of our rookies. He was drafted at 16 for a reason.

Not saying Mickey isn't athletic either. It's a combination of the two.  But the reason he gets so many blocks is because of his timing first and foremost.  He is a quick leaper and very instinctive.
