Ceiling? Bill Russell's defense, Malone's Jumpshot, McHale's post moves.

Probably in the foyer.

There is no such thing as a "highest" ceiling. A ceiling by definition is already the highest possible outcome.

Mickey is just what the doctor ordered right about now.

I can see something good happening with the rotation of

Amir/KO
Sullinger/Mickey

Jerebko as the extra

Can't see Zeller having a future with the Celts and likely will be traded by the trade deadline.  Somebody will take a chance on him.  he is still a decent player just not a fit under CBS

Sullys heft and Mickeys vertical reach could work out

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
What would be good is if Mickey could overtake Amir's role as a small ball center.
Amir could net us a really nice asset from a playoff team that needs a good big man-either this year or next year.
Hopefully they give Mickey half the season after the trade deadline to get a feel for some real NBA minutes and then keep Amir's contract next year as an asset/filler in a large trade.

Is Mickey shooting threes regularly yet or is that still in the works?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Not regularly. But making wide open 3s at a good rate

He's shooting 33% on a small sample size (6-18).

He is an athlete and while skill can be developed it is much harder to develop athletic ability if it is not there.   Look at Jared, he has made little progress in this area.   KO has made some strides.   Mickey already has a lot of it, needs strength, but needs to polish his skills.

17 MVP awards in 15 seasons. I guess that's a bit of a conservative ceiling for him though.

Paul Millsap with less offensive aggression but more defensive ability and production.

If that sounds like a disappointment I'd point out that Millsap has carved out an excellent career for himself and was a max guy in high demand last summer.

Other wise I'd agree with the shorter, more post D oriented Bosh.

i think he is a lock to be the first nba player to be admitted as a player to the HOF twice. one induction to the HOF is simply not enough to express how great he really is.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

He'll be so dominant that other sports will induct him into their HOFs because one HOF isn't enough...

But in all honestly based on how our frontcourt has been playing I'd rather see Mickey in the lineup. Probably as good now and we'd actually be developing a player... I mean Mickey now has got to be better then Lee currently right?

Oh, I totally agree. I actually really like Mickey as a future option, and frankly, no one could possibly be worse than Lee. Adding athleticism, shot blocking, defense, rebounding, efficient offense, and youth to our rotation would probably be a good thing.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Just read through the thread. The best ones I read were Amir Johnson with a jumper, Serge Ibaka and Chris Bosh.

I feel like Mickey has a similar fluidity of motion to Bosh, so i'm going to go with his highest ceiling as a poor man's Bosh.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I see quite a bit of Serge Ibaka with Mickey - if he can develop his long-range shooting to the extent that opponents need to even slightly respect his shot then that will open up his offensive opportunities.
