As p---ed off as I am (like everyone else) that we lost to the Nets, which of course hurts our chances at a top draft pick...I'm almost nearly as upset at how bad we have been playing lately!

The following are players & draft picks that I wouldn't mind seeing shipped off (for the right return):
Lee, Zeller, Sully, Jerebko, Boston 2016 1st, Dallas 2016 1st, Minnesota 2016 1st (will be two 2nds), Boston 2018 pick

That said, I don't think we can get a D12 or Durant or a big star right now.. BUT, why not a possibly more attainable player? Such as:
- Tyreke Evans (he is like Turner in that he does a bit of everything, but he is a TON better)
- Gallinari (he's not my top choice and he may be too pricey, but he would give us some additional scoring pop)
- Kevin Martin (much less than the others but he can score and shoot well when healthy - getting him would obviously necessitate giving up much less)

I really *really* would love Tyreke Evans on our team. Along with him, Crowder, IT, etc I think we would be a lot better, and just adding 1 star to that nucleus could make us a contender. I don't know what we would give up... maybe James Young, Jerebko (salary filler) and Dallas 2016 and Minnesota 2016 (two 2nds?)

I am probably missing other good options that are more attainable and very good. Any others you guys can think of?

Still a month away before teams start looking to trade off players.

Sorry but I don't want any of those players. This is what people fail to see in these micro trades. C's are a slightly above average team because they are loaded with role players. They aren't going to get better by trading for more role players. They need border line All stars brought in or even better a top 20 player if they want to actually get better. Don't waste assets or potential cap space on journey-men.

Tyreke Evans is averaging 15/7/6 and 17/5/5 for his career. Not really sure if that's a role player.

Gallo gets 15-20 per game, another second tier star.

Kevin Martin, at this point, I agree is a role player. BUT much better than a lot of the ones we have. In the NBA if you can trade two dimes and a nickel for a quarter, you do it EVERY time. Even if it is upgrading role players.

With the amount of shots and PT those guys have had its not saying much. They are role players. 4th or 5th options on a championship caliber team. We need better.

That all or nothing mindset applies to the draft via Brooklyn (we need a top pick or else we are kinda SOL) but it does NOT apply to trades and free agency.

No star will want to come here if there aren't appealing players that would surround them.

Further, this is a team that is rebuilding through incremental progress. We upgrade the players, and then later we can further upgrade them.

Lastly, Evans & Gallo would easily be the 2nd best players on our team, and would easily be good enough to be 3rd options on a title team.

I disagree with all of that. AB(all around) and IT (offense) are better overall players than both those guys. They are not good 3rd options. Again Pass. But I absolutely agree we need upgrades just aim higher or not at all.

I would take either of those guys over AB. In my eyes, AB isn't even currently the second best player on our team behind IT - Crowder is.

And I think if the other options for aiming higher are unattainable or too costly, then we should take the next best thing.

Who do you have in mind for these targets that we should "aim higher or not at all" for?

Crowder hasn't played well a full season yet so I'm not putting him ahead of AB.
As for targets you have to go by who is available. I say that because it almost seems like it's a dealers market place and no GM can just call and aquire a guy. A guy is put on the trading block before he is ever dealt. Besides that any top 20 player will do if one hits the market you do your best to get him. If a near all-star player hits the market you see if he fits your team. But no matter what no more role players. I rather be sellers than get Evans, Martin or Gali.

Well no one is available now in that category that you mention. And to me, a guy like Derozan is not a top 20 player. It is very possibly these top 20 players won't be available in the next couple years through trade, and it will be hard to get a star through FA.

Overall, kindly agree to disagree.

Every 2.5 years a big name is moved so we  have to be patient especially if it's just wasting assets for guys that don't move the needle.

oh goody! another "let's blow it all up" thread after a loss.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Never mentioned anything about blowing the team up - mentioned adding another player possibly with some of the assets I mentioned.

Funny to see some bumkin post such a stupid response though  :P

If you lose from these lakers and twice from these nets you should consider blowing it up

Kevin Martin has been cashed for 2 years.  Hard pass on a 32 year old shooting 36% that got eaten up by RJ Hunter.  He's a minus player.

Evans does some nice things but if he was the second or third fiddle on a championship team, considering they have Anthony Davis, I would expect them to be a lot better than an 8 seed last year.  Truth is he would be lucky to play 15 minutes a game if he was a Spur or Warrior.
