I didn't get to see the game...
Can anyone give a run down of how we lost?
Can't believe we've dropped 2 games to this horrible team.
hard to describe. for me, the key was the inconsistency by the celtics coupled with the nets playing a great game for them.

on defense for the celtics, while there were good moments, all too often the celtics team played soft defense. too many people did not play with passion this evening. however, smart and crowder were exceptions and smart almost single handedly turned the tide at one point. the more i see of him, the more he reminds me of KG's intensity.

on offense, the celtics had a bad, bad shooting night at 39%. (can you say "****ty"?) i counted at least 5-6 layups that simply missed. in a three point loss, the looms large. from 3 point range it was worse than bad. just check the box score and prepare to shake your head.

the celtics just came out and shot jump shot after jump shot. when they finally attacked the basket, they pulled ahead of the nets. but then they turned back to being lazy and trying jump shots....again and again.  :P

the nets played very well, for them. i think they hit 21 of 22 free throws. if they had shot their season average at the line or even a tad higher, the celtics win. lopez was really on tonight and the team made some outstanding, improbable shots. credit to them.

all of which means that the gap between bad teams and ok teams in the nba is not THAT large. when you are a roughly .500 team such as the celtics, games like this happen. it is one reason a team hovers around .500 for a season.

but tomorrow is another day and we can all come in from the ledge. it is still a bright new year and i plan to have some very good wine and cheese tonight.  ;D

P.s. laposta fazzio malbec is highly suggested.  ;D

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Well just trade the pick back to Nets for Lopez and be done with it.

Awesome short summary. Much appreciated, thanks Hwang! Tp x 3 for you!
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

We are not a good shooting team, my friend.  While it is true, a lot of guys are stinking at shooting this year.   Some of them have been historically bad shooters and show no sign of improvement.

Our last fives games FG%
38%  BRK   Loss
43%  LA      Loss
42%   NYC   Win
46%  DET   Win
42%  CHA   Win

year to date FG%  43%

league leader in FG%  SA 49%  We are 24th at this stat out of 30  teams.

0ur last five games  3p%
21%   BRK
26%  LA
40% NYC
17%   DET
24%  CHA

year to date 3p%   33%

league leader in 3p%  GS 42%  We are 25th at this stat out of 30  teams

We often live by the three and die by the three.  The last five games we have been cold from down town.   We do not have many good three point shooters.  Some guys need to be told not to shoot them period.   We have some guys who think they are all world, and some who take bad shots.

A lot of our guys are not especially solid shooters at their position.

pg  AB is 11th in FG  9th in 3p%   not bad at all folks and peeps want to deal him.
15th in scoring.
pg   IT is 22th in FG   21st in 3p%
4th in scoring
sg   ET is 14th in FG    3p%  Does not place in top 25
29th in scoring
sf   JC  is 14th in FG    3p% Does not place in top 25
15th in scoring

pf  Amir  does not take enough shots to qualify in leaders, and to be honest we do not use him enough.  He is shooting 56% from the field
33rd in scoring  30th best FG% in league

c   Sullinger   16th in qualified FG at 42%  too low to register on three point percentage
17th in scoring.  268Th FG% in the league

These are qualified stats  to * To qualify, a player must be on pace for 300 field goals made.

We need to clearly use Sullinger less and Amir more.     We need to get better bigs or get Amir to shoot more.

Jarrett Jack said that he has "never felt pain like that before" in regards to the knee injury he suffered on Saturday vs. the Celtics.

Wonder how long hes out for. Losing jack will hurt nets
