really hope they pull this out. This has become a pathetic game thread. TP to the people staying positive and enjoying their team. 98% of the time there isn't a game going on to talk about draft picks, trade etc. Cant even discuss the game here anymore

Couple things to note:

1) If they lose this game, which it looks like they will, they are a .500 team at home, with losses to LA and Brooklyn

2) 3-3 on the season against one of the three worst teams in the league

3) Celtics are legitimately a bad shooting team

Good points.  Decent road team but can't defend home court, bad sign.

Celts play the right way and generate a lot of decent shots but don't have the personnel to take advantage of their opportunities.

There's a lot of dead weight on this roster,  guys who probably won't be here in a year or two. We have a number of young guys rotting on the bench, which now includes Smart. Time to make some moves.

If the Celts still look this mediocre in a couple months I think there should be serious consideration given to dumping the expiring guys and probably Sully in order to gather some marginal future value and ensure a second lottery pick.
we knew before the season that the celtics were probably a mediocre, maybe .500 team. this is the sort thing that happens with such teams.  :P

but, a quarter remains and the celtics may pull this out yet.

yes, i am terminally optimistic.  ;D

I respect that, seriously. It's not in me but I respect it.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

When the product on the floor is depressing, people turn to the big picture to try and conjure up some hope or at least perspective to distract from the present reality.

Marcus Smart is the only one playing with energy.

amir is 3-3 but only gets putbacks, hasn't touched it otherwise. Your PG has to know who is playing well and get them a look.

Amir is an odd offensive player. Has flashes of scoring but is mostly uninvolved. I think he's probably just in rapid decline and prefers to use his energy on defense.

you say that based on what?

Who said I wasn't enjoying it? I enjoy following the Celts immensely. I just don't always love every single game. Sometimes they play badly. Sometimes they're just not a very good team. But it's still worth it to follow them and discuss them and try to think about how they can be made better. It's not black and white, right?
