If the Celts still look this mediocre in a couple months I think there should be serious consideration given to dumping the expiring guys and probably Sully in order to gather some marginal future value and ensure a second lottery pick.
So many sucky teams all of a sudden and a terrible draft. Not sure it's worth it.

Last years draft was the one to do it.

we knew before the season that the celtics were probably a mediocre, maybe .500 team. this is the sort thing that happens with such teams.  :P

but, a quarter remains and the celtics may pull this out yet.

yes, i am terminally optimistic.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

amir is 3-3 but only gets putbacks, hasn't touched it otherwise. Your PG has to know who is playing well and get them a look.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Hard to watch the last couple of games and feel particularly good about the Celts as a postseason competitor, even if they manage to get into the playoffs. Just too easy to get exposed by teams with size, even crappy ones.
I still think we might pull off a move or two in the next couple months that could make us a semi threat.   But as currently constructed, this team wouldn't go far at all.

But you never know what might happen at the deadline... maybe something like Smart + Brooklyn's 1st + Dallas's 1st + Boston's 1st + Sully for Melo.

What?!

he is joking.. why would Knicks do that. Perhaps if we sweeten deal with Brad Stevens they will agree. ::)

C's have 12 minutes to salvage my Saturday night.  I will not be happy at all if they lose to Brooklyn.

A couple years ago that would've thrilled me but how many decent years does Melo have left? That's a straight Meh trade at this point.   Giving up way too much just to make an incremental upgrade for a couple years.
Only a "meh" trade if Brooklyn stays in the bottom 5.   If they go on a mini run they could be out of the bottom 10 by the deadline... and then I'm not sure that offer would be enough for Melo.

That Nets pick will at least be top 12.  Giving up three firsts and Smart for a couple good years of Melo is way overboard. I'd rather see Ainge use the draft picks and try to develop youth for a couple more seasons.

Develop young players! Let's see that instead of giving so much playing time to journeymen on expiring deals just for a somewhat better shot at the playoffs.

not this month but February and March are easy months for the Nets.
Say they win this game... that's 10 wins.  The team with 15 wins right now would have the 14th pick.   Nobody wants to admit it, but this brooklyn thing is far from a lock.

Couple things to note:

1) If they lose this game, which it looks like they will, they are a .500 team at home, with losses to LA and Brooklyn

2) 3-3 on the season against three worst teams in the league

3) Celtics are legitimately a bad shooting team

That's the best way to go. The C's have too much young talent that needs to play to sustain what they are trying to do to appease CBS. Last year was warm and fuzzy. The C's are trying to build a contender tho not try to win 50 games. There are guys that have no future with the team that needed to be moved.

Amir is an odd offensive player. Has flashes of scoring but is mostly uninvolved. I think he's probably just in rapid decline and prefers to use his energy on defense.
