Hard to watch the last couple of games and feel particularly good about the Celts as a postseason competitor, even if they manage to get into the playoffs. Just too easy to get exposed by teams with size, even crappy ones.
I still think we might pull off a move or two in the next couple months that could make us a semi threat.   But as currently constructed, this team wouldn't go far at all.

But you never know what might happen at the deadline... maybe something like Smart + Brooklyn's 1st + Dallas's 1st + Boston's 1st + Sully for Melo.

What?!
Maybe not enough.   We'd also have to include David Lee or Amir for salary purposes.

Why does KO keep coming out. We need his shooting.

Terrible defense so far. The Nets 4s have been having their way with him. I might roll the dice with him at the 5 against Lopez, it's not like Lee is a defensive savant.

A couple years ago that would've thrilled me but how many decent years does Melo have left? That's a straight Meh trade at this point.   Giving up way too much just to make an incremental upgrade for a couple years.

Only a "meh" trade if Brooklyn stays in the bottom 5.   If they go on a mini run they could be out of the bottom 10 by the deadline... and then I'm not sure that offer would be enough for Melo.

If the Celts still look this mediocre in a couple months I think there should be serious consideration given to dumping the expiring guys and probably Sully in order to gather some marginal future value and ensure a second lottery pick.

not this month but February and March are easy months for the Nets.

4-game win streak would mean nothing if they lose to the Lakers then the Nets with all the extra motivation. This is a huge quarter coming up.

you mean a run for a team that may have lost their pg for a while?
