I think that's his upside. I hope to see him get there.
Don't care for the player comparisons being thrown around, but agree with this. To be fair to others, it's hard to compare him to other guys because what he brings offensively is so unique. Just has to find his consistent inner Klynyk to make us all happy campers.
Dude needs to change his mindset to get to that point... as in never pump fake again and actually play angry every game. I don't see KO ever averaging those numbers but maybe I'll be wrong and I hope I am. He is definitely better than what he's averaging now though
I agree, he has a long way to go. I imagine many of us become so frustrated with him because of his perceived upside, though. This was meant to be a ceiling projection, unless I am mistaken? If it was, seems like a feasible ceiling given his skill set and the glimpses that he has shown. Whether he reaches it, I've no clue... but he has made nice strides this year.
He's only playing around 19 minutes a game right now, which is really suprising. His per 36 numbers are actually pretty close to that projection: 17.8, 7.3, 3.0, 2.2, 1.3. The question is whether or not he'll ever be able to play more than 30+ minutes a game with the way he picks up fouls.
He's had a good month, averaging 24 mpg, 16.5, 4, 2, 1, 1. Foul trouble doesn't seem to have limited him in any game but SA (5 in 12 mins - obv absurd). May be becoming less of a problem, though the inconsistency is probably still an issue going forward. Imagine if he knew he had an opportunity to snag 30 mins/game, he may be more careful on the defensive end. Doesn't strike me as a dumb player... more of the opposite (stuck in his head), wouldn't you say?
