He has no inside game, none. Until he can be a force in the block at both ends, he's irrelevant. There are a hundred guys with his skill set at the moment..

The problem is being one dimensional. When the shots don't fall he gives you very little..
ok, i'll bite. please provide us with a list that (1) is remotely close to 100, and, (2) includes players with his skill sets in shooting, scoring, assists, and defense...and of course some stats to back all this up would be very appreciated.

without the above, your loyal readers can only assume you pulled this out of your butt.  ;D

oh and on the bolded point above on olly having no inside game, last season olly made 258 baskets. of those, 161 were from in the paint. that means 62.4% of his baskets were inside.

Stats don't mean ---
He plays small and has no inside game with his back to the basket..

Serviceable yes, championship piece? I don't think so.

If he had a little COakley in him, now you got something

Yeah, let's count all the championships that Oakley won......zero.

I agree that stats arent everything, but this response is a cop out and only validates hwangjini_1's response.

Personally, I think Kelly is currently somewhere in the middle of both sides of this arguement

Already in this thread, we've seen the "small ball is stupid" argument, the "stats don't lie" argument, the "stats are irrelevant" argument, the "rings = aptitude" argument, the "intangibles" argument, and the ever-important Josh McBoberts name drop.

I can't wait for the "Rondo's percentage from midrange makes him a good jump shooter" or the "Marcus Banks 2.0" diatribes.

(PS: Rondo is actually a pretty darn good 3pt shooter now.)

i like this post. tp for the humor and insight.  ;D

p.s. you forgot the "doc cant coach" tirade.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
