A good PR move right now for Philly, but not likely to affect the Tank much if at all.

It would bring in two veterans to hopefully calm the waters a bit, and we could add in a couple of second rounders or maybe a first.

For us we get a rock solid SF avg 14,6, and almost 3 steals per game perfect fit. He's taking 7 three's per game and shooting .337% not bad.

What type of pick s would have to be involved to entice Philly to make this trade.

Hinkie hangs up fast. I could see trading for Covington, but you'd need a stronger package.

Why would Philly trade to get back a guy they just recently traded away?   But don't take that the wrong way - I love Turner and hope he is re-signed.

Forgot to mention that because of Philly being so far under the cap you can add all or any combination of Mickey, Rozier, Young, and Hunter.

How many young guys would you add.

Also Turner is a free agent so he'd most likely just leave at the end of the season.

One thought: Would you trade Rozier for Covington straight up? I could see that interesting both sides.

You can't just trade several players for one player.  The Sixers would be forced to cut players in order to free up enough roster sports to make the trade work.

Just looked at Rozier's stats and can't figure out why the Sixers would make that trade.  To top it off Covington's contract is better.

From our perspective, I'd love to get Covington but whose minutes would he be taking?

While in general I agree with this line of criticism, the Sixers are carrying so much roster fodder that such concerns shouldn't exist with them.

Why would you look at the stats of a rookie who rarely plays to determine his value?

Just trying to figure out some reason the Sixers would want him.  Particularly in a straight up trade for Covington.  Rozier was projected to go late 1st but Ainge reached to take him at 16.  He's not a particularly good shooter or playmaker.

Cmon man! You had to look up Terry's stats? Do you watch the games or follow them?

I kid I kid. That being said I think terry for Covington doesn't make sense because that is a current downgrade.

Turner makes some sense. Turner would Score a lot keep them bad but he is a veteran that would improve the team.

But I think they'd prefer covington

I like covingtons game (size d and 3 ability) but what about the philly factor KJ mcdaniels has been in the league for ~105 games for half he has been a sixer. In those 52 games he scored 9.2ppg for over478 points. Since then he has scored 20 points.  For reference the much maligned James young has scored a similarly putrid but still greater 43 points in a time frame that was 2 weeks shorter.

Turner scored like 17 a game for them 2 years ago when they were better than they are now

Can we really judge Covington?

I don't watch enough 76ers to know  how valuable he is.

He's better than both of them.  He's scoring at good percentages - over 40% from 3 - and that doesn't really have anything to do with what team he's on.  Turner was given free reign to ball hog and inflate his stats with poor coaching to keep him in check, while KJ McDaniels was shooting .293% from 3 and .399 FG%.  Those are both poor numbers - especially given his situation - and neither he nor the Villain are playing like Covington is now.

From the 6ers games I've seen, Covington looks good.  He isn't going to be a superstar, but if he is your 3rd best player and your best 2 are really good, he could cause a ton of havoc.  He can play alright D, he can slash and he can shoot the 3.  He would probably have to be on the right team, though.

I'd trade Zeller because Covington fills a position of need, is a good-enough 3pt shooter, and has the tools to be a good defender. Philly would possibly be interested in a traditional center to spell Okafor, allowing Noel to play most of his minutes at SF.
I would not trade Turner, he is the far superior player, and will prove to be very valuable to this team when they can't score in the playoffs.
