If we had Rodney Hood this year how many more wins over 82 games

 He's be another 6'8" athlete coming off the bench probably playing back up SF and is currently avg 12.4 ppg have to figure he's give us around 10-12 ppg off the bench.

Agreed. Hood was a below average bench player last season. He is not good enough (yet) to crack Boston's rotation. I don't think Hood would any wins to Boston's W-L record.

Hood does struggle a lot but he can have some good games offensively here and there like Smart. He definitely plays small though unlike Smart. I still think Young can be a better player than Hood.

Why do people act like Rodney Hood has been that much better than Young?

Hes 3 year older than Young, and his ceiling has always been a back ended rotation player with a chance at starting on a bad team.

Young has the potential to be a good 3 and D type of player that can either start or come off as a sixth man like JR smith.

I never understood this forums infatuation with a player that hasn't done much to prove himself. How many wins would this team have with Hood? None.

I would take Bradley, Hunter, and IT over him any day. He wouldn't get any minutes at SF, because he isn't a good defender. Also if I'm incorrect, but isn't Hood and Young weigh literally around the same weight? Bball-reference seems to suggest hes 206, and Young is 215. You want a guy like that bumping against small forwards?

while I wanted Hood over Young in the draft, I don't think he'd have added a win.  I'd certainly be satisfied Danny landed another rotation player if we had Hood since Young has yet to show that much.

Young is still a very young player, younger than players we have drafted since by a couple of years.  I get why a lot of people aren't thrilled with him but the hate goes too far.

And I'm with others.  Hood hasn't shown he's anything to write home about yet.  We could use a SF sure but I don't think it's the biggest roster issue.

I'll give Young a pass these two years, but next season you really hope he'd be ready to contribute something, anything.

Hood would probably be playing in the D league if he was on our roster. If not he would be playing similar minutes to Hunter if he was lucky.

He is definitely an ABOVE average SG THIS year!!  He is 9th for SG's  in ESPN's real plus minus overall and he is 27th in defensive RPM for SG's this year.  He was a SUPERB defender at Duke.  He simply IS a very solid defender!!!
