Nerlens Noel will come off the bench tonight for Sixers vs Pacers, says Brett Brown

It makes a lot of sense. Noel is basically useless away from the basket and is making just 22.0 percent of his shots outside of the restricted area. He and Jahlil Okafor basically occupy the same space, so it makes sense on the offensive side. It does also help on defense so Jerami Grant can defend Paul George. Hopefully this is a positive for Noel, who is off to a terrible start. This move may not stick, though

Wrong guy going to the bench. Should have been J.Okafor.

I've been saying Noel an Okafor don't fit, they are near the basket players. Which is why I thought they should have gone after A Russell, or Exum int he last two drafts. Even Gordon would have made more sense.

I wonder if DA's eyebrow rose a bit if he's heard the news. While not a great shooter, a great young presents int he paint on D.

You might have to throw in a 2nd rounder.

What i wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall in DA's office while him and Brad discuss if he'd be a fit here.

With Noel in a vacuum, I want him on the team. Think he's a special defensive talent that offers legitimate star power. At the very least think he could be a Marcus Camby type and hopefully much more. But after seeing how well we've played this year I believe in the Celtics Vision more than Noel.

Ideally DA and CBS think he'd be a great fit and trade for him with no looks back. But if they don't think he'd fit I definitely wouldn't argue.

Excellent. If they determine that Noel and Ok can't play together long term we may be able to snag one.

Have a feeling the 76ers are going to ask for the moon regardless.

If the Sixers care about winning this year, sure.

Indeed.  Getting Noel would require trading the 2016 Nets pick, at a minimum.

I've said it the whole time: Okafor and Noel simply just cannot work together at the 4 and 5.

This problem gets even bigger when Embiid finally comes back.

What gets a deal done with Philly? I'm not adding Smart right now, but I'm not sure Philly really needs another really high pick this year, though that doesn't necessarily mean they don't *want* another high pick.

Would something like KO, Rozier, and the 2017 Celtics pick (with swap capabilities with Brooklyn) work for Noel? KO would seemingly be a much better fit offensively with Okafor, and his improving defense would also suggest it's a much better fit, too.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

If that was the case, I would rather still shoot for DMC. I would rather have a player that's breaking records, and slowly becoming the first dominant two way 5 in NBA history.

Especially if Embiid ever comes back healthy.   It's a good problem for Philly to have, though.  Three potential franchise players at the most coveted position in the league.  It'll be interesting to see when they inevitably bite on an offer and what the team looks like a few years from now.

It's a match up thing wouldn't read too much into it.
