W T F Brooklyn! Playing out of spite! Just Fold!
It's going to get worse as the season progresses.  They have nothing to gain by losing.  When teams start shutting down for the playoffs or tanking for ping pong balls, the nets will win games.   But one thing is certain... they are finishing below .500 this year.  They are in such a hole that it's basically a lock we get a lotto pick from them.  Pretty awesome.
Any predictions for the Nets actual record for the last 23 games? Oh wait ......lol

Well even if the Nets play .500 ball from here on out, were still getting a good lotto pick out of them.  Not bad.

28 wins would have a win % probably leaving us with the #6 pick.  We're in pretty good shape as long as they don't go on a run.

At least you're finally starting to admit, even if it's in a very subtle way, that you were really wrong on them.

wow, such a bold prediction for a team that already has lost 41 games. are you sure of this?  ;)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

They've actually lost 42 games though.

"It's basically a lock we get a lotto pick from them". So LB thinks they'll give us a top 14 pick. Way to go out on a limb there.

Last night was awful. I woke up this morning scrolling through the scores, saw Minny & even PHX won, and was so pumped - the last score was the Nets and couldn't believe they won. This is becoming the worst case scenario for us. I went through their remaining schedule, and not only is it so weak, but they are somehow winning. I can easily see them at 23 wins, at which point the pick could end up at like 5-7.

Nets looking good for 4th worst, could end up with 5th if MN drops off. Means our most likely selection is 5th or 6th.

The plus side is that the tournament is coming up, and we all know what happens during March Madness: Prospects that were second-tier at best become "the greatest prospect since XXX" as part of the hype. In a draft like this one, can't hurt.

Nets have signed Sean Kilpatrick to a 10 day. Led the d league in scoring at over 26 a game. Cut from nuggets earlier I think.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Nets visit Minny on Saturday.  That game will be pretty key in keeping the Nets at 4th.

You always gotta worry about the "addition by subtraction" possibility with moves teams make.  Obviously, on the surface and because of the name 'Joe Johnson', one would assume that no Johnson and the team gets worse...but unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way so far, granted it's still early.

But I was just as surprised as everyone else this morning when I looked at scores and saw that they beat the Jazz in Utah last night.  That's a baaad loss for Utah.  You never hope for an injury, but Brook Lopez is the cog that keeps everything together for that team and without then they REALLY go in the tank, so you gotta hope his injuryproned body gets some nicks and he has to miss some games.

Their record won't turn out to be what we want it to be unfortunately, but I guess that's why in this case we can be thankful that it's still a lottery system.

I still think that the lottery will be helpful.

Still plenty of season left and the majority of the Nets games are on the road.

They are almost guaranteed no worse than 5th. Right now the 6th place team already has 23 wins. The key is Minny who also won a game in which they were underdogs. The Nets have some winnable games over the next 8 or so but then their schedule is very hard over the last 15. So, if Minny can hold em off over the next 8, it should be good.

I see 5 winnable games coming up over the next couple weeks.
@ Lakers
@ Denver
@ Minnesota
@ Philadelphia
Philadelphia

But to win those games means:

1. Winning not one but two ends of back to back games over a three game stretch on a nine game road trip,
2. Winning three straight games
3. Winning three straight road games
4. Winning four of five road games and six of nine games total, all on the road

If the Nets do that, that would be good because I can see it being validly argued that the Nets will then not win another game after that last Philadelphia game that would be in Brooklyn. 5 wins then would probably then be expected as a ceiling for Brooklyn because I don't see them winning all 5 of those games but I don't expect them to win many other games, so it all evens out to about 5 more wins tops. 22-60. Good for fourth or fifth place in the lottery odds to win the #1 pick.

The Suns waived Kris Humphries. Even Philly doesn't seem as bad as the Suns. What a pathetic franchise.

Self destruction at its best. At least Philly has a plan. Suns was supposed to be a playoff team that decided to blow up the building in the middle of the season.

Just look at their franchise last year (this is all the players that played for them).
http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHO/2015.html

The steps to self- destruction:

1. Re-sign Bledsoe for a 70 mill 5 year deal, when you already have a ****load of PGs. In 2013-4 they had Barbossa, Dragic and Ish Smith (hey, with hindsight this guy doesn't look that bad, if only they had given him playing time...). And then they got IT. I don't remember the exact order of the moves here, but clearly offering a fat contract  to Bledsoe when you can have IT and Dragic :o... No wonder both IT and Dragic wanted out....

2. Trading IT for a stale bagel (follows naturally from 1 but still  ???)

3. Trading Dragic for two first rounders of questionable value: Miami's 2017 (1-7 protected, 2018 unprotected) and 2021 unprotected. First thing to notice here is that 2021 is a bit far away  ;D, second that it doesn't take much to realize Riley's evil plan is to hand them two non-lottery picks and have a good laugh.

4. Trading the first Morris brother, p---ing off the other one to no end, and then being forced to trade the other one too.

The Brandon Knight deal was the only one that was not outright awful, but all they have achieved so far is wasting an elite player in a mega-tanking team. (and this at the cost of a high value LAL pick, Ennis and Plumlee) If this continues, expect Knight to ask to get traded soon enough 8)

Arguably, the worst front office performance in the last couple of years.
