Rumor has it that Minnesota will buy out Anthony Bennet.  Who has more potential, Bennet or Perry Jones III?  Or are they both flawed enough that Celts really want neither?

I don't think either has more potential than to be a deep bench player at this point.  would give the nod to PJIII for already showing he can do that much

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Jones.

At least he has an excuse for having poor stats (bring buried behind a superstar on team that competes every year).  Not everyone accepts that excuse, but it is a legit excuse that can carry a debate.  Plus in the one year where his team wasn't a clear contender (last year) he managed a couple of pretty impressive games, so at least he's shown he is capable of it.

Bennett on the other hand has played for bottom-of-the-barrel lottery teams teams every year so far, and he's still struggled to get playing time or to make any kind if impact.  That's bad.  That's real bad.

jones.

just due to the size, length and athletic ability
also Jones is only 1 year older so age isn't much of a factor

TP. Good question, welcome.

Gotta go with Perry Jones III. Bennett has a fine ceiling in his own right seeing how in college he was  being compared to Larry Johnson for reasons other than the UNLV connection. Don't really see it so much now but he could still turn into a nice player maybe something like a Thadeus Young type.

Jones though has the potential to be something great. Something the.league hasnt really seen much before a legitmate near 7' Small Forward,  You couldn't have asked for a better star for him to go against in practice every day than Durant, hopefully he picked up some good habits off KD. Think his ceiling is something like a shorter but maybe more vertically gifted Ralph Sampson, a serious matchup problem capable of going off on any given night.

If I had to choose with our current roster, I'd probably pick Bennett for the Kelly Olynyk team Canada chemistry, but seeing as we have already have Jones III on the roster, feel fine to seeing what we have with him instead.

Exactly.
TP.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I'm not sure Jones has an excuse for his low minutes. Bennett was competing for frontcourt minutes with Pek, Thad Young and Gorgui Dieng. Last year, Jones was competing with... Anthony Morrow?

Jones is taller and more athletic.   Bennett is a tweener, too small for his position in the NBA.

Counterpoint: Jones has knees that are made of papier-mâché.
