Jones.
At least he has an excuse for having poor stats (bring buried behind a superstar on team that competes every year). Not everyone accepts that excuse, but it is a legit excuse that can carry a debate. Plus in the one year where his team wasn't a clear contender (last year) he managed a couple of pretty impressive games, so at least he's shown he is capable of it.
Bennett on the other hand has played for bottom-of-the-barrel lottery teams teams every year so far, and he's still struggled to get playing time or to make any kind if impact. That's bad. That's real bad.
I'm not sure Jones has an excuse for his low minutes. Bennett was competing for frontcourt minutes with Pek, Thad Young and Gorgui Dieng. Last year, Jones was competing with... Anthony Morrow?
Dieng and Pekovic are centers. Bennett is not a center.
So the line should read "Bennett was competing for minutes with Thad Young".
Now Thad Young is nowhere near an All-Star. He's a good starter (On Iggy level at best). Plus Minnesota were pretty much tanking, so it's in their best interest to develop prospects rather than win games. So if Bennett had so much glowing upside, why on earth would the rebuilding Wolves play Thaddeus Young almost 34 minutes a game...leaving Bennett a measly 16 minutes?
Gorgiu Dieng is a 25 year old prospect who was taken 21st overall in the same very same draft in which the 22 year old Bennett was taken 1st overall. Also Dieng (like Bennett) put up pretty 'meh' stats in his rookie year in limited minutes.
So why is it that the Timberwolves were happy to give Dieng a whopping 30 minutes of playing time (indicating that they have no shame playing prospects) despite already having a proven center in Pekovic...and yet they only gave Bennett 16 minutes a game?
All signs indicate that Bennett should have higher upside - he was taking far higher in the draft than Dieng and he's significantly younger. So why did they trust Dieng to play big minutes, but not Bennett?
I'll tell you why. Because Dieng has obvious upside as an NBA player, and Bennett does not.
This is the same reason why now (with a nearly retired KG and an unproven rookie Anthony-Towns on their roster) the Wolves decided to buy out Bennett's contract and let him walk.
