Bennett's "successful" summer with the Canadian national team was in a role as an effort rebounder. It's not like he's flashing solid dribble moves or showing of any kind of hook shot or post move. At least the other young prospects can point to something as evidence of a potential elite skill:

You mean this qualifying tournament that they lost where he posted

Main Statistics
Points per Game   7.6
Rebounds per Game   5.4
Assists per Game   1.2

Sundance, In what world is 5 RPG a success?  Granted he played 17 MPG a game.   But he was no show the last two.

These are the stats from the "summer" tournament.
I'm a little confused. Are people trying to say here if PJ3 or Alex Len or Jordan Mickey or someone played 17 mpg in FIBA this summer they would have had better stats than this?

I would say probably, yeah.  But how do we know if they weren't there?

Also the Mickey comparison isn't fair because:

1) Mickey is yet to play an NBA game, Bennett has already played two NBA seasons.  Ask me that about Mickey two seasons from now and I'll answer for you.

2) Mickey is not an offensive oriented big.  He's basically Bismack Biyumbo with a jump shot.  Guy who aren't offensively oriented typically don't look as impressive on a box score, but can have far great impact despite this (think: Amir Johnson).

Either way, trying to compare Bennett's production with what another prospect could have / should have / may have produced had they been in the same scenario is not productive - it's pure speculation, and there is no possible way to know the answer to that.

I mean really, we haven't even seen what Mickey can do in an NBA game yet.

What I can tell you though, is that in 2014 Summer League Anthony Bennett only averaged:

13.2 Pts
7.8 Reb
0.8 Ast
0.8 Stl
0 Blk
42.6% FG
25% 3PT
60% FT

By comparison Perry Jones in the 2012 summer league Averaged:

12 Pts
6 Reb
0.5 Ast
0 Stl
1.5 Blk
43.5% FG
100% 3PT
100% FT

Both pretty much on par.

In this year's summer league Mickey looked better than both of them overall:

12.2 Pts
7.9 Reb
0.5 Ast
0.8 Stl
2.4 Blk
52.6% FG
67% FT

In fact Rozier, Hunter and Mickey all put up SL numbers that were at least on par with Bennett's so there's really no reason to believe that Bennett has any more potential than any of our three rookies.

Well, other than the fact that one really stupid team decided to draft him 1st overall.  ;D

Isn't any reason to believe Jones does either really, but at least you can make an argument for his length+athleticism combination.

Both in terms of potential and fit I would take PJ III. Danny passed on him once and regretted it. For fit it is not even close. Olynyk was far superior than Bennett and we already have Amir Johnson and Sully as undersized bigs both of whom are better than Bennett. PJ III gives no a big with athleticism on a small lineup and a march up nightmare on a trad line up. He allows us to ridiculously big playing at the 2 with Jerekbo @ 3. He is simply much more versatile and exactly what the C's need. He duplicates Jerekbo a bit; but by building depth or redundancy at all positions it makes trades that much easier to manage. Rozier & Thomas, Sully and Amir, Lee and Zeller, Jerekbo & PJ III, Turner & Young, Bradley & Smart. Could also pair Olynyk & Jerekbo. Question is who gets cut.
