It's funny in a very pervse way that the top threads right now are about mass shootings, Donald Trump and Rondo

What really matters is that Cousins and Coach Karl both love him.  He called a player/coach meeting with Cousins and Karl, and worked some things out.  Cousins and Rondo seem to have developed respect and friendship.

Some people on this board take everything Rondo says (with his dry humor), like not playing defense, or he and Coach Karl had problems, and turn it against him.  He has been injured the past few years, but people expected him to pull out wins as if the young players  he was playing with were on the same level as Allen, Pierce and Garnett...and blamed him when he couldn't even though he was still recovering from injury.  It seems to me that he did everything he could, but probably shouldn't have been asked to, to mentor young players and be a "player-coach" for Coach Stevens.  And.....Coach Carlisle recently came out and said that it was Not Rondo's fault that he was a misfit in Dallas.  Carlisle  could have just kept his mouth shut and not said anything if it was not true.

Those coaches and players involved may be lying, but maybe not.  I choose to believe not.

Why, when a different opinion is offered, is it labeled hate. I don't think anyone hates Rondo. Some certainly don't appreciate his style of play, and see flaw's they can't abide by. But that's just a personal opinion. Some may not trust him, and for good reason.

I think hate, is a little too P.C. of a label for a simple different opinion.

I'm a Rondo hater, but I don't hate Rondo.

Some people really do seem to genuinely hate Rondo, in as much as you can hate an athlete you've never met.  They seem to get legit angry whenever his name comes up.  It's like a much milder version of the reactions Iverson used to get.

Those people are a minority of the folks who criticize him, though, but they tend to be more attention-grabbing and memorable.

I find our team a lot more fun to watch without Rondo than before we traded him (especially once IT came on board), and I was really relieved when he finally got traded because I had spent such a long time arguing about Rondo's value to the team and what we should do with him.

As a result, I personally do feel a bit of a strong reaction when people suggest we bring him back.  It's like, "PLEASE LET'S NOT DO THAT ALL OVER AGAIN."

I am not saying that Rondo should be on the Celtics now....to the contrary, I think he would be foolish to come back.  Same for Pierce or Garnett.  You do not enjoy his style of play.  I do, and will continue watching him.  Unfortunately, I think that Cousins may be leaning toward staying with the Kings, and if you want, you can "blame" Rondo for that.  From what I have read on various Kings sites, it might, finally,  be blame well placed.   ::)

The funny thing about that statement is that he really didn't. In fact, if you watch the Kings you'll notice the same matador type defense he played in Boston, save his first 2 or 3 seasons where he built a reputation for playing D, which lasted far too long after he stopped.

Rondo is a one system player. He needs the ball in his hands the majority of the game to function. In any other system he loses all effectiveness and becomes a marginal, at best, NBA player. It's no wonder why there were no suitors for him during the off-season. The Kings were bidding against themselves and they've allowed him to be play in that lone system he can play.

To call those that point out the faults in his game "haters" is probably better than putting blinders on and pretend he was ever a top 10 player many clamored him to be.

......but when you point out NOTHING but his faults....well, you're a......

You know.

Or, when you speak with a forked tongue, and say "You love him" in one sentence, then go on with an essay listing his supposed faults....well............

I suggest that you review Danny's trades over the last few years.

TBQH - His best move IMO was showing Paul Pierce and KG the door...........

Wyc called out Rondo for his comments about mailing it in over his last 2 years as a Celtic on Felger & Mazz today. He knows Rondo's sense of humor, but he still was willing to say he felt it was good he's gone.

Is he a hater?

Meanwhile, strong night for Rondo.

So he wouldn't be embarrassed by tonight's blowout by the Celtics, he got himself thrown out of the game, way to give your team a chance, Rondo!!!!
