I expect he's just being honest here, but his comments probably aren't exactly building up his value--for an NBA team:

Kelly Olynyk on pride in playing for Canada and biggest difference from the NBA: "They can't trade me to Germany."

Could change topic heading to trade instead of deal perhaps?

Interesting little bite there.
Thought he was trying to be funny and then read the full quote.
God I hope we do trade him.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

That's rough. Almost as awkward as Danny saying that Jonas will be here for 'another year......maybe two' during the press conference.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Why do you hope we trade him?

i was worried about the merry go round of players last year and now everyone again looking over shoulder with addition of perry
and talk of sully and ko trades

KELLY JUST MISSES PHIL PRESSEY-----this is his second remark the last was about continuity being a plus
hard to have team first attitude with so many trades-amir and lee might be used to it but our young guys and then all the drafts next year

Definitely interesting if that's actually where his mind is at (and this wasn't just a joke). As of now, I'd say he probably has more value around the league than Sully. I suppose a trade would make sense.

I wonder to what extent agents are privy to trade discussions. If KO is on the block, or being discussed in trade talks to any extent, what's the likelihood he would know about it?

Eh, maybe. It also might have just been his attempt at humor.

Meh, dude is talking in generalities about life in the NBA. No need to read between the lines. One always has to be prepared to get traded because that's the reality of the NBA period, even more so when he was part of two years of constant roster turnover.

Even if KO has been informed that there's a high possibility of him being in another team's uniform on opening night, I doubt such would come out via a quote regarding international play.

Still, wouldn't mind seeing him go.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I just don't think he's got the heart/mentality to be a starting forward in the NBA. Just can't ever see him getting much better.
Just a personal opinion.

At some point were are going to have to get some athletic bigs that can play on both ends.   I rather keep KO than Sully at this point, even Sully has been more productive.   One has been professional and one has not.

Agreed.

Wow I actually think that's a pretty telling quote.

The fact that this was the first thing he said in response to that question shows me that the fact that he could be traded has definitely been on his mind.  He's nervous about it and probably not happy.  The Amir Johnson signing and David Lee addition I think has really opened his eyes.

But in my opinion, he shouldn't be that surprised.  KO hasn't developed and lived up to his potential of where he was drafted.  He's somewhat injury-prone, he's an absolutely horrendous rebounder, his defense hasn't improved all that much, and his shooting is too inconsistent.  If he doesn't like talks of him being traded, then he should play better.  Simple as that.
