I did take issue with someone comparing sullingers weight to this kind of crime and saying they are comparable.
No one has done that here.
The point that was made is that Sullinger's weight has a greater chance of actually keeping him off the court.
Which, since we don't know these players as people nor do we interact with them as such, should probably be the primary consideration.
You did it repeatedly.
why do you take issue with it? They are both red flags and things to take into account.
For Sully he has shown that his innability to make good decisions and take care of his weight/health makes him a gamble just as Morris's legal issues make him a gamble.
My biggest issue in this particular post is the fact that Phosita did make the comparison and then denied ever making it. That just rubs me the wrong way personally, because I don't like it when I feel like someone is going out of their way to be disingenuous rather just owning up to what they write.
That part aside, I do think it is a bit offensive to compare someone having some weight issues to a guy that is charged with aggravated assault and beating up an older man until he was unconscious as part of a gang. As a person, I want him to go to jail for that and i have no wiggle room on that.
People that engage in gang beatings (and they could have very well killed this guy) don't deserve to just be making millions of dollars without a day behind bars. At the very least, i can really strongly hope my team doesn't pick up that guy until he serves some penalty for that kind of grotesque action.
I know we can get on a slippery slope because Sullinger had his own actions that were possibly horrible with his partner. If people were comparing the two in that regard, I still think there is a difference, but I have much less of a leg to stand on. Overall, the teams I root for i don't want players that have beat up old men, their partners, committed rape or done other horrible crimes. I hold this true for all the teams i follow.
