Evan Turner and Sullinger for Kieff works in the trade machine.

Throw in a second rounder or two, if necessary.

I think Morris as a player is marginally better than Sullinger, with any difference probably offset by the fact that Sullinger is two years younger. (to be fair, he's also on a very good contract.)

If we were doing this trade, it would essentially be trading two similar players with problems and hoping that the problem we're getting (a felony charge) is more solvable than the problem we're giving away (health/weight issues.)

Turner and Sullinger for Markieff.  I'd do it happily.

Not worried about the personality stuff.  It's whatever.  Sounds to me like the Suns made some half-promises to him that they didn't keep.

Markieff's a quality player and I think Stevens could get plenty of value out of him.  He's a better version of Jerebko.

Really?  If you compare their per 36 minute stats from last year, Sully averaged 17.7 points and 10.1 rebounds versus 17.5 and 7.1 for Markieff.  Sully is clearly the better rebounder, and their shooting range stats are practically identical.  Plus Sully is three years younger and has more upside.  I would take Jared Sullinger and his weight issues over Markieff Morris and his mental issues any day of the week.

Those 3 rpg per 36 are meaningless considering sullinger has already missed nearly a full seasons worth of games in the past 3 years.

Meanwhile, morris has played 82, 81 and 82 games in the past 3 consecutive years.

Durability alone makes those per 36 stats a moot point regardless of who you think is "better"

We're not talking about an All-Star or on the cusp player, we're talking about 15 points and 6 rebounds per game.

We're also talking about a talent upgrade and a 25 year old player.

This is where we disagree - I think a Sully/Morris swap is a lateral move in the talent department. The biggest difference is minutes played - at least to me. Still, I think it's a rebounding downgrade with slightly more consistent scoring and a push in defense.

We traded Marcus Thornton and a Cleveland 1st round pick for Isaiah. Why would we offer more to Phoenix for Markief? Turner, Jones and a pick or 2 is fair. Markief demanded a trade. Phoenix screwed up. We should lowball them

Evan Turner and Jared Sullinger IS a low-ball offer.

Markieff is cost-controlled for even longer than IT, and he's a proven starter, whereas IT is a sixth man.

Remember that even if Sullinger plays well this year and stays healthy -- not a small "if" -- the Celts will probably have to pay him WAY more than the $8 million per year that Markieff makes for the next 4 seasons.

Umm, why should we care about this, again?  I always thought that the Morris twins were pretty meh, honestly, but I've never looked at their stats or anything else related to them, aside from a story where they were both suspended for doing something at a nightclub last year?  I can't remember right now.  Aren't they just tweeners at the 3/4 spot?  Wait - omg, they're tweeners :o!  That means that both of them have always been on Danny's radar ::). *facepalm*

So, you know nothing about them aside from a vague impression you've got of the position you think they play, yet you're registering an opinion nonetheless.

Got it.   8)

I like how everyone is glossing over the part where he and his brother beat up an older man at a basketball game as part of a group of 5 that attacked the same guy multiple times until he was unconscious

We want this dude? This is less of an issue than Sully's weight?

Will it keep Markieff off the court?  Because Sully's issues have tended to keep him off the court.

It may keep Markieff off the court for a long period of time.

Is this serious? For 1, yes he is facing jail time. He is charged with aggravated assault. Hard to play from there.

This is what aggravated assault is: n. the crime of physically attacking another person which results in serious bodily harm and/or is made with a deadly or dangerous weapon such as a gun, knife, sword, ax or blunt instrument. Aggravated assault is usually a felony punishable by a term in state prison.

Secondly, does it not bother you at all that was kicking a man on the ground until he was unconscious with 4 other people? That is not even a little troubling? You sound, not sure how to phrase this on celtics blog,  like a something, trying to compare the two.

Yeah, and I think most of the people who want to get Morris and are hating on Sully for his weight would hate Morris and want to cut him after half a season.

Yeah. Not sure he fits the culture that everyone always cries about being an improtant part of a rebuild.

When was the last time an actively rostered NBA player served jail time for something like assault?
