Little sissy doesn't want to play without his brother.  Be your own man and grow up.  Same issue when they were rookies.  I wouldn't go near either of these boneheads.

This...

Sorry, but guys like this are exactly the type of guys you DON'T want on your team.  Luckily recent history indicates Danny / Brad agree, because they have primarily gone after positive-attitude players in the past year.

At the end of the day this is the NBA, and it's a business.  Teams are going to trade whoever they want to trade if they feel it makes them better, or gives them a better shot at achieving their end goal.  You signed a contact agreeing to take gobs of money from said team, and you insisted only only playing with your brother then you should have requested that as a special clause in your contract - which of course, no team would agree to...so you'd be out of a job.

There is a right way, and a wrong way, to deal with situations.  There's the David Lee way (being a pro and dealing with your situation, even if you don't like it) and there is the Bogans way (have a hissy fit and jump up and down).  I think we all know which is the right way.

^^ This nailed it.

Also Gerald Wallace was professional too.

Why invite the crazy??

I found this on Valley of the Sun blog:

Quote
Defensively, Markieff Morris still has a long way to go. He’s not a great rebounder and at 6’10”, he’s not quite strong or lengthy enough to defend some of the tougher, bruising power forwards of the Western Conference. But Morris is no longer a floor mat on that end of the floor either, even if fans still cringe when someone backs him down in the post.

His draft express measurements were 6'-7.75" w/o shoes so even calling him 6'-10" is a stretch. Sounds like a PF to me who is a little undersized but solid.   Don't see the fit.

At this point, I think the only trades that we make are for a true star (which Morris is clearly not) or for a more offensively minded, starting caliber SF; preferably an offensively minded SF who is a  true star.

Rumor swirling is that when he signed the contract there was a unwritten commitment that they would keep his brother also. That is the reason why he signed a contract for less than he is worth.
Having said that I would absolutely take Morris, if that rumor is true he has a legit gripe (as childish as it might be). It also feels as though the PHX front office has a hard time keeping their players happy (Morris, Dragic, IT), so maybe the problem is actually with management and not the players?

So putting it together, Morris signs a favorable contract to guarantee his brother stays on the team, they trade his brother, lose his trust, and now he wants out. So now we can potentially land a solid player with a favorable contract with no strings attached? Yes please.

what the heck are you babbling about and in what world do you live that caring about family members and wanting to be with family is somehow not "manly"? sounds like a bizarre form of masculinity your are invoking here.

in our social constructions on being masculine, or a "man," they include being responsible to those who matter to you, no?

and "sissy"? as in effeminate? god forbid any guy should resemble a woman. talk about horrors!

i can see that morris has some problems, not just this one, but this personal attack is simply uninformed and uncalled for.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I disagree here.

Morris needs to stop whining and play. this isnt about "looking after family" his brother is making millions and millions of dollars.

to me, this seems more like a spoiled kid wanting everything to go his way just like it has since he was 12 years old. toughen up.

edit: seeing the rumor above that he had an agreement at the time of the contract that his brother would be kept in place changes things. THat is more like the taking care of others that you mentioned. If the organization broke their word to Morris he is right to demand out.

also, this is a good opportunity for Ainge to look to IT4 to see if he thinks this guy is worth bringing in. If IT gives the greenlight then Id be OK with it.

that's very unprofessional on Markieff's part...cut ties with the whole organization INCLUDING his teammates..what is stopping him from pulling the same stunt in Boston if something does not go his way, something as little as just trading his "brother"

be a man, and you're not a superstar, you do NOT have a say when a team trades your player...you don't see KG, Pierce etc throwing a fit when perk was traded...I remember they were p---ed off he was traded but they didn't throw a fit...they were pros

above it was mentioned that the suns may have promised him theyd keep Marcus when they resigned him.

For me if you break your word that throws everything else out the window. instant credibiliity killer.

This. He's an asset on a favorable contract...He is a useful chip for a bigger trade because of his contract. Also, his 3 pt % may have been down last year, but his overall FG % was good.

Phoenix is at fault here not Markief. Phoenix has gone back on their word with Isaiah and now the Morris twins.

I forgot Phoenix also played Dragic incorrectly and called him out after trading him. Players aren't going to want to play in Phoenix where they are treated like property

I just feel grateful that we haven't had to deal with anything like this since Antoine.

Our club must be doing something right.

Even when everyone was predicting that Rondo would start acting like a complete jerk in his last years in Boston, he has never had anything but good things to say about the fans and the organization.
